MAD Blues

ENGLISHEarly in 2000, with the name LONELY DOG, the band made its first concerts in Rock&Blues Festivals at schools and universities of São Paulo. After some gigs with the following formation:André Guimarães Rodrigo - lead guitar and vocal; Jaime Oide – lead guitar and vocal; José Maurício Saad Ayres – bass and vocal; Diego Silva Alegria – drums. The band became a trio when Jaime left the group. Time went by and the band took into the studio looking for a new sound. That was when the name of the band changed to MAD BLUES, where MAD stands for the players’ initials: Mauricio, André, Diego. The band returned to be a quartet when the guitarrist Carlos Galan joined the group and helped to create the present sound. With the new formation:André Guimarães Rodrigo – lead guitar and vocal; Carlos Alberto Galan Rodrigo – guitar and harmonica; José Maurício Saad Ayres – bass and vocal; Diego Silva Alegria – drums; the band started rehearsing with more dedication and airiness, achieving the present sound, a dense and vibrating sound with energy and feeling. The band returned to make concerts, playing at the University of São Paulo and Santo Amaro Blues festival. In 2002 the band was invited to play in a famous blues bar in São Paulo called Mr. Blues Bar. After that, the band has been playing in quite many places, like Tonton Jazz, Urbano, Mr. Blues Bar, St. John’s Irish Pub, Zink Bar, Delta Blues Bar (Campinas), Dinossauros Rock Bar, Manifesto Rock Bar and some Rock&Blues Festivals. In 2005 they recorded the first independent album called “I can’t leave the blues”, witch had some songs played in two international radio stations, in the program “Good Time Blues”-Fênix FM-93.1 –Buenos Aires-AR and “Red Hot Blues”-Vilafant FM-107.1-Barcelona-ES. Nowadays the band works at the recording of the second album called “If you wanna be the man” and try to bring the blues into the open, interpreting its music and the legends of the blues of all times.PORTUGUES Fundada no início do ano de 2000 com o nome de LONELY DOG, a banda fez suas primeiras apresentações em festivais de Rock&Blues em Colégios e Universidades na cidade de São Paulo. Após algumas apresentações com a seguinte formação: André Guimarães Rodrigo – guitarra e voz; Jaime Oide – guitarra; José Maurício Saad Ayres – contrabaixo e voz; Diego Silva Alegria – bateria. A banda sofreu sua primeira baixa com a saída do guitarrista Jaime Oide do grupo. Passou-se um breve período de tempo, em que a banda recolheu-se em estúdio para buscar um novo caminho para o seu som, e foi nesse período que recebeu o nome atual, MAD Blues composto pelas iniciais dos componentes remanescentes do grupo: Mauricio, André, Diego. A banda voltou a ser novamente um quarteto a partir da entrada do guitarrista Carlos Galan na guitarra base, que com sua bagagem musical, teve participação decisiva na definição do som atual da banda. Com essa nova formação: André Guimarães Rodrigo – guitarra solo e voz; Carlos Alberto Galan Rodrigo – guitarra base e gaita; José Maurício Saad Ayres – contrabaixo e voz; Diego Silva Alegria – bateria. A banda passou então a ensaiar com mais dedicação e desenvoltura, chegando ao seu som atual, um blues denso e vibrante com muita energia e sentimento. Nesse período a banda retomou suas apresentações em publico, tocando no Centro Acadêmico da Faculdade de Musica da Universidade de São Paulo e no festival de blues realizado na Casa de Cultura de Santo Amaro. Em 2002 a banda foi convidada a apresentar-se na conhecida casa de blues de São Paulo Mr. Blues Bar. A partir deste momento passou então a apresentar-se em varias casas de shows do circuito paulistano do Rock&Blues, dentre as quais, Tonton Jazz, Urbano, Mr. Blues Bar, St. John’s Irish Pub, Zink Bar, Delta Blues Bar (Campinas), Dinossauros Rock Bar, Manifesto Rock Bar e em festivais de Rock&Blues em São Paulo. No ano de 2005 realizou a gravação com produção independente da banda do seu 1º CD “I Cant’ Leave The Blues”, trabalho que foi bem recebido pelos amantes do blues, tendo inclusive algumas de suas musicas tocadas em rádios do exterior, programa “Good Time Blues”-Fênix FM-93.1 –Buenos Aires-AR e programa “Red Hot Blues”-Vilafant FM-107.1-Barcelona-ES. Atualmente a banda dedica-se a gravação do seu 2º trabalho “If You Wanna Be The Man”, e a levar o blues e suas vertentes a outros espaços e pessoas, interpretando composições próprias e dos grandes mestres do blues.
