A national award winning trombonist ,Simon ,who studied with Bill Watrous,is a busy educator and solo and ensemble performer. Simon is currently writing for his new horn heavy jazz funk collective.
Performance is an obvious outlet for music and Simon has gigged and taken ensembles on tour around the UK and Europe, just last year playing at the 43rd International Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.
Simon is an experienced educator and has written for and rehearsed many sizes and styles of ensembles with age ranges from 8 to 80 and all levels of ability from beginner to professional. Many younger performers that have passed through his ranks go on to enjoy music at university, music college and in national ensembles. A sizeable number have and continue to serve music as their profession whilst others continue a lifelong love of music as amateur musicians.
Simon has a principal goal that is to pass on his own love of music and performance to those he is privileged enough to meet along the musical path .
