About Me

My name is Martin Lightfoot, I'm a farm labourer and I love lard and dripping. The stuff is just magic. And all we bloody well get are idiots like that bloke Jamie Oliver and those busy body's the EEC telling use we can't use the stuff! What's all that about? They call it the babysitter state I think, and I have to agree. But my answer is I'm 39 and it's been 25 years since I've needed a babysitter so back off.I know it's bad for you but so are most things if we listened to those buggers. The facts are simple. Dripping is just dynamite on toast, a nice bit of Grimsby haddock tastes like heaven fried in beef dripping (I mean, ground nut oil - what's a bloody groundnut anyway????), a fry up (and don't even get me started on a 'grill up'!!!) is just not the same if it's not done in lard (plus of course mopping up the bacon fat / lard once everthing is out of the frying pan is a mighty pleasure on its own), olive oil is just foreign muck (unless you use it to unblock your ears) and pastry wouldn't be where it is today without lard.So this website's mission is simple - to foster and promote lard and dripping and make the great British public realise that medis sorts, southerners and the bloody well busy bodying EEC speak a load of clap trap most of the time and that thetruth is the world tastes better with lard & dripping.
