Life began when I saw your face and I heard your laugh like a serenade

About Me

Name:Read my display name and you'll know:P.
Age: 26. I didn't care about my age until I realized I'm now closer to 30 than 20.
Location: Somewhere in the province of Quebec, Canada. I really wish I lived in Europe though. Europeans rule, they're a lot more free-spirited than us North Americans. Canada is way too influenced by America and I hate it. One of my dreams would be to travel across Europe, starting with France. I'm obsessed with all things French and Parisians.
Height: 5'1''. Yeah, I'm a midget, I know.
Weight: I need to lose 20 lbs. That's all you need to know.
I like: Music (duh!), movies, books, writing (my lifelong dream is to become a writer) magazines, taking walks while listening to music on my mp3 player, being online, playing around in Photoshop, talking to my wonderful friends on the Martin's Secret Garden forum (which I moderate... if you're a DM fan, come take a look, we're a lovely bunch, albeit a bit obsessed, but that's only because DM made us that way), animals in general, my cat in particular (I used to have 2 cats but one of them died recently...), travelling, having long, meaningful conversations with people, hanging out with my friends, dancing, laughing, being on vacation, going to concerts, staying up late, getting up late (I'm not a morning person).
I dislike: getting up early (did I mention I'm not a morning person?), politics, violence, hypocrisy, liars, country music, people who take themselves too seriously, narrow-minded people who don't believe there's more to life than what the eye can see, winter, working (but it's only because I haven't found a job I like yet), getting into arguments, being told what to do.**
..

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Give me any of these guys anyday and I'll die a happy woman.**

****

David Strajmayster & Guillaume Carcaud aka Doudi and Pepess aka Samantha & Chantale. Actually I could've met them when they came to Montreal last October, if only they'd told us there was a meet & greet after their show... I'm still a little bummed out about it...:( Those of you who aren't from Quebec or France probably don't know who they are but I just love these two, they're hilarious and adorable. Oh, and they're H-O-T.

Music:

Depeche Mode/Martin Gore/Dave Gahan, Indochine, '80s New Wave, Chillout/Ambient, Dance/Techno/Electronica, French Music, Nightwish, Yoav, MIKA, TTC, Grand Corps Malade, Mylène Farmer, Kraftwerk, Pet Shop Boys, The Cure, Shy'm, Putumayo World Music, Buddha Bar, Sam Sparro, Jacques Brel, Rita Mitsouko, Vanessa Paradis, TTC, Édith Piaf, Tears for Fears, Feist, Duran Duran, Telepopmusik, Enya, Rõyksopp, Delerium, Nitzer Ebb, Information Society (including Kurt Harland's solo stuff), Ray Charles, Etta James, M.I.A, Eric Clapton, Chicane, Kelis, Client, Bjõrk, Carla Bruni, David Bowie, Eurythmics, Marilyn Manson, Sugababes, Tuxedomoon, Underworld, Madonna, Michael Jackson (the old stuff), Nightwish, movie soundtracks (Rent, Chicago, Moulin Rouge, Romeo+Juliet, etc.), Dissonance, Olive, Joss Stone, Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, Aaliyah, Leonard Cohen, Bessie Smith, Amy Winehouse, Pink, Green Day, Alanis Morissette, Portishead, Massive Attack, Justin Timberlake (shh! don't tell anyone), Nick Cave, Brian Eno, Goldfrapp, Metope, Daniel Lanois, Nelly Furtado, Bob Marley, Nirvana, Pierre Lapointe, Nine Inch Nails, Dido, Janis Joplin, Pink Floyd, The Doors, U2, Darren Hayes/Savage Garden, Beyoncé, Weird Al Yankovic, Gwen Stefani... As you can see, I listen to pretty much anything. The only kind of music I really hate is country. You know, the type of country that they play on CMT. If you want to torture me, lock me up in a room and play country music for two hours non-stop.

Television:

I don't really watch much TV, to be honest. I'd much rather rent movies. But I love sitcoms, such as Everybody Loves Raymond, Family Guy, The Simpsons, Titus, Seinfeld...

Books:

I have a confession to make. I love chick lit. It's not something I'm proud of, but I can't help it. I have read the entire Shopaholic series by British writer Sophie Kinsella, as well as her other novels. Her humor is absolutely delightful, and her characters, even though they belong to a world I know nothing about, are extremely charming and sweet. Other than that, I read biographies, especially rock star biographies like Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin...and Depeche Mode, of course. Thanks to a good friend of mine (yeah, I'm talking about you, Val!:P)I am now addicted to the manga series Hanakimi by Hisaya Nakajo. Usually, I'm not a fan of Japanese stuff, but these books are just too fun to miss. It's cute, sweet, funny and it's just an all-around good read... if you like cute love stories.:P

Heroes:

Basically I admire anyone who was able to make it through very hard times. This is why I worship all of these guys:*****They all went through hell, especially Dave, and they could have split up for good a million times, but they were able to work out their differences to continue making great music, and for that, they have my utmost respect.
