About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V3.6 !
i appreciate sounds. good sounds... which will exclude things like vacuum cleaners, brakes on volvos, rap music, people chewing with their mouths open... these things just dont have any melodies! my love for sounds might be a reason to why i also love languages. when i am really tired i know nothing better than to try to imitate dialects/accents.
favourite sounds:
everything in sodastream's and sigur rós' music!, strings in many other musical pieces by people with an ear or two for music, the intonation when norwegians speak english is so cute, when my cat snores, when the mail lands in the post box/on the floor, the quietness when the ground is covered in fresh snow, the blackbird singing, when i am angry and really get the opportunity to throw glass at the recycling station, the crescendo in sigur ros' viðrar vel til loftárása, the ice cubes going *kling* in the cocktail glass, dialects, the murmur from people having a coffee break in their saturday shopping frenzy, the swedish word 'sorl' which means 'murmur', uplifting words from the people you least expect it from in times of doubting oneself, when cracking the ice on recently frozen small puddles, when my neighbour listens to "good enough"-rock at midnight, when you can hear on both ears again after having a cold, when people on the bus that i commute with keep their mouths shut or at least speak in minuscules,
"hung up on a dream" with the zombies, when you get a 'hej' back from people you greet in the street or so, when people use (and understand) quotes and cliches with great timing, when "takk..." is played for the 365982342nd time and still has something magical about it, handclaps, a good old tune in mono, when you wake up around 8 am on a sunday and it is absolutely quiet next door and in the streets, the seagulls screaming in spring and summer mornings, when my classmates at least tried to keep a low profile in class!, ...
i also appreciate certain smells:
warm asphalt after the rain, wet soil, Lux shower cream Milk of the Gods, most new books, the sweet smell of success, timber forest, water from the lake, coffee when I really need it, a bouquet of wood anemones, pork brushed with egg and breadcrumbs and roasted - right out of the oven (xmas dish in sweden, if you wonder!), new shoes, sundried laundry in springtime, ironing damp clothes, Vichy laboratoires normaderm, candles just blown out esp. in churches, most subway stations in stockholm, wild strawberries, newly developed photos, the warehouse part at IKEA stores, tea in the tea shop, DKNY perfume, a crisp morning in the winter, julmust (if you know swedish, you know what i mean! :p), clementines, libraries, vanilla, some of the erasers i collected in the 80s that still have some nice smells, ginger bread - right out of the oven, spring!, ...

My Interests

languages, love to use clichés, idioms, expressions, catchphrases, proverbs and such and to know the etymology of words, i always lend my ears to music (always something on here: radio, stereo, tv, internet...), attending concerts, trading mix cd's and mix tapes, travelling, i love to use my feet to walk (in shops, parks, woods, villages, towns, cities), take pictures (in parks, woods, villages, towns, cities + of friends, plants & my cat), being nostalgic, daydreaming, drinking coffee & tea/fika, email & handwrite my friends far away
playing boardgames (pictionary, othello/rolit, trivial pursuit, monopoly, scrabble, chinese chequers, memory)
being amazed by trees, flowers & other plants (forget-me-nots, tulips, amaryllises, succulents, etc.), colours & shapes, details, patterns, being obsessed by nonsense knowledge & getting disappointed when no one shares my excitement for it, spotting spelling mistakes, taking long showers and baths, shopping small unnecessary things + cd's + paper items + plants/flowers, reading the news, reading the books, spending time on the internet, ...
