Welcome to Begrimed.
I found drum'n'bass in 2000 and haven't looked back. It completely takes your life over!! I grew up in a fairly musical household so music's always been a big part of my life. As I developed my own music taste, I listened to mainly rock & metal music, with a dabble of 80s and mainstream thrown in. I loved live music from a very young age and saw many fantastic bands.
I started playing drums in 1993 and played in fantastic school bands like Chocolate Starfish and Scheduled Despair (I love that name!), before joining the legendary Tetley Nights in 1996, playing blues and funk.
As I discovered the finer things in life, rock music and my drums kind of got left by the wayside. In 1997 I discovered house and hard house. I had 3 good years of dancing at Progress, God's Kitchen and Passion until one Saturday evening in 2000 when my mates dragged me along to some student union in Stoke to see E-Z Rollers. I haven't looked back since.
Friends accuse me of being narrow minded with my lack of interest in anything other than drum'n'bass, and I suppose I am, but the truth is that if something fulfills all my musical needs then why listen to anything else? Everything else is so slow as well!! :-)
I started making tunes in the summer of 2006 and I do it purely as a hobby. I'd love to get paid for making tracks but the simple truth is that I'm not good enough and don't have enough time to devote to it. I do, however, love making tracks so please have a listen. Feedback always welcome.
