The Best Is Yet to Come - 90% Written by Eltara on April

Deafening Part II. I have received the band's second demo and in return
promised a review, so here it is. In the last week, I've listened to their
first demo a few times to soak up that Deafening sound and to conclude that
I still fully agree with my own review. As I put this demo on, the first
track "Helpless Innocence" immediately convinced me. Yes, this band is only
improving. They may say that the worst is yet to come, but I for one am only
expecting the best.
The formula is still the same. Simple, but powerful guitar supporting a
talented vocalist who knows how to deliver a message. The only difference
with this demo is that I hear a promise, more so than on the first demo.
Granted, it may take some time, but given the chance I'm sure this band can
become a big name in the heavy metal scene. And if you don't believe me,
just listen to the title track and judge for yourself. That has promise
written all over it. They once again convinced me, I urge you to get
convinced too. Go check out the songs on their myspace or even better, try
to purchase whatever you can. Any heavy metal fan with a healthy respect for
the local scene should listen to this.
What else is there to say? They may not go at it at a high tempo, but that
doesn't make it any less impressive. I've often found many heavy metal bands
lacked decent slower songs, but here's a band that shows how to do it. I can
only hope they'll keep making music like this. We have so many artists who
experiment, it's time we get a few who honour the formulas that already
exist.
