About Me
..PROOF OF LIFE COMPANY PROFILE... Proof Of Life Entertainment LLC was founded in January of 2004, by partners Eddie Rangel and Chris Reyes. A sports and entertainment management company, marketing and promotions group, record label and multi-media conglomerate, Proof Of Life has become one of the front runners of the new hip-hop generation. With an emphasis on pushing the envelope through innovation and boundless creativity, Proof Of Life has remained unscathed in the hostile environment that is the present day entertainment industry. With the primary focus being independent, quality, uncompromising music, art and talent, Proof Of Life stays true to the essence of hip-hop culture. As a management company, Proof Of Life has remained true to its promise to "put the artist first" and protect the integrity of the hip-hop culture. In 2004, Proof Of Life signed its first artists Southern California veterans, Diego Brown, consisting of rapper C-Rey and vocalist G-Dub. Diego Brown, under the guidance of Proof Of Life would go on to sell over 10,000 copies of their debut street album "Never Enough" while simultaneously changing the face of independent artist representaion. Having been the featured acts in venues across the nation, as well as, Mexico and Canada, Diego Brown is now at the forefront of the new Latino West Coast Movement. Following the success of Diego Brown, Proof Of Life would make a significant signing, in May of 2005, that would change the climate of the urban entertainment world. West Coast street legend and veteran member of the West Coast Zulu Nation, Ricasshay, signed a multi-year contract with Proof Of Life, forever cementing the companies roots in true school hip-hop history. The legend of Ricasshay will continue to grow through one of the most innovative marketing and promotions campaigns to ever represent an independent artist. Ricasshay is scheduled to drop his debut album in late summer 2008. Immediately following Ricasshay, will be the duet debut of Proof Of Life's latest signings, Mike-G "The New Breed Of M.C." and one of the west coast's top draft picks J-SERRANO, formerly known as "5150". Mike-G will drop a mix tape/street album immediately followed by a commercial album in spring 2009. J-SERRANO will drop a promotional mix tape/ DVD also in the spring of 2009. Proof Of Life's ability to promote and represent its artists in a manner equal to the originality of their work is what is at the essence of the Proof Of Life formula. With its recent expansion into the world of R&B, D.J./ Production and Sports, Proof Of Life Management, through unbending honesty and integrity, is set to make its mark in the world of talent representation. Having successfully marketed and promoted hip-hop culture from the hood to the boardroom,Proof Of Life has jumped whole heartedly into the world of urban/Latino Promotions and Marketing. From street and nightlife promotions to company branding and consultation, Proof Of Life is changing the way independent talent is fed to the world. With the ability to produce top quality events from start to finish and the capabilities to promote to and connect with an ever changing consumer base, Proof Of Life is a full service marketing and promotions company. Able to connect talent and businesses to consumers in a way that emphasizes street credibility and urban relevance, Proof Of Life exists as a rare entity in the urban market. There is no reason independent artists and urban businesses should have to sacrifice integrity in order to market themselves in a cool, relevant way.", states Chris. "It's all about utilizing the skills and hustle of the street and mending it with the professionalism and discipline o f the business world." In the winter of 2007, Proof Of Life took a common pop culture medium and mixed in urban innovation and cutting edge technology. With the creation of Proof Of Life Radio, Proof Of Life has single handedly created an outlet to break new artists and give back to the hip-hop community while simultaneously marketing sponsors products and in-house talent. Hosted exclusively by Proof Of Life artists, Proof Of Life Radio began reaching over 260,000 listeners a month after only 6 months of existence. While breaking exclusive music and interviewing hip-hop royalty, Proof Of Life Radio has virtually exploded on to the scene. "We use to have to beg for interviews" laughs Eddie. "Now we're being forced to take bookings well in advance." Proof Of Life Radio now receives over 1,000 new and exclusive tracks from record labels and artists around the world. Proof Of Life Radio can now be heard from North America to the Gaza Strip due to a syndication program, the first of its kind, which allows websites to simulcast a weekly radio show for free. Proof Of Life takes pride in exposing talent "from the underground to Myspace" and turning its in-house talent into on-air personalities. Beyond entertainment, Proof Of Life exposes its sponsors to new markets and consumers they would have difficulty tapping on their own. Eddie adds, "The streets are listening to us, and are loyal to us… [Sponsors] recognize this and let us help them reach and understand these consumers." Proof Of Life Records is at the end of its first year of existence and has already made a tremendous mark on the independent underground hip-hop world. With two commercial releases this year and four commercial releases slated for the 1st and second quarter of 2009, coupled with five promotional releases (DVD/mix tapes), Proof Of Life Records is easily one of the hardest working labels in the independent music arena. With innovation such as flash drive commercial albums and mix tapes, in-house online distribution, as well as, traditional distribution, Proof Of Life Records' sales are an ever growing entity. Proof Of Life was one of the first independent record labels to recognize the need for retention of consumers through a "have it as you want it" delivery system. With the up rise of the consumer "iPod attitude", Proof Of Life Records is packaging and marketing music in ways never before seen. "When you buy a record from us you buy an experience, you buy a piece of the artist…its what [record labels] need to do to bring back the consumers passion and love for [a business] that many consumers feel, have done them wrong", states Eddie. "They pay the money and keep the artist hot…they deserve to have what they want!" Beyond its core artists, Proof Of Life Records employs a team of the hottest up and coming producers to assist with the creation of quality sure-shot hits. Combine this with an in house recording facility and a very experienced, artist friendly A&R department, Proof Of Life has manifested.
