About Me

Rhymatic's love for hip hop started way back in 1990 when he heard Kriss Kross' 'Jump' for the first time at the age of 9, and became an immediate 'head'. He wrote his fist rhymes at the age of 13.He then got his first taste of performing in 1998 when he grabbed the mic and started flipping at a drum & bass show by 'The Hostage Crew'. Following the crowd response the crew asked him to join and together they hosted many drum & bass events, doing some live radio gigs, and playing some clubs in and around the Cape Town area, creating a good underground following until 2000.In 2001 he entered the 'Hip hop Indaba', an event held every year consisting of mc, dj, and b-boy battles, where he reached the semi-final against some of SA's best freestylers. He then started a 7 piece Rock/Hip hop group alongside mc's 'The Mind' and 'Steady Wisdom' called 'The Lyrical Herb'. Together they drew some good crowds, headlined some big shows, and had a underground following. After some lineup and a name change to 'Multistate' the band broke up in 2003.In 2005 he hooked up with producer 'Super Symmetry' from F.I.R.E. Productions and started writing and perfoming again. Rhymatic has been playing the club scene, creating a underground following, as well as festivals such as 'RamFest', the outdoor hip hop festival 'Take the power back' and 'Take the power back 2'. He's also gotten some radio play and been a featured act on TV sows such as the 'Hip Hop Show' on MK89 where he also did a live performance. Rhymatic is currently in studio recording his first album wich will be done end of 2007, with the release date still to be decided and will never stop rhyming!
