About Me

EARLY YEARS 'TILL NOW
“In ’95 at 13, my older sisters boyfriend gave me a copy of A.W.O.L – Live at the Ministry. It had a major impact on the course of my life and was where it all started. Being inspired by the early Fearless & GQ of that era, I began to create my own individual book of chats, putting pen to paper at every opportunity. I'd been playing the drums since 7 (and still do) and was into all types of music but being introduced to jungle was a definate turning pointI got deep into the scene by 98 and the music made up a large part of my life, whether it be raving or playing-out. At my first event, I was offered a slot on Code Red Fm, which in those days was smashing up West London and the surrounding counties. I was still a youth and making mistakes but constantly improving. Looking back, opportunities like these were a major part of the learning curve and why I’m here today.1999-2000, a time which I perceive to be one of the best in Drum and Bass. I drew heavy influences from the tunes of those days, Turbulence, 20/20 Rmx & Nitrous…and even now my taste in Drum reflects the hard edge of that period. From here, my love for the darker drums meant going to and playing at Squat parties, at the same time as rave bookings becoming a more regular thing. The music started to grow and begin to form styles sub-genre's and right about now and the more commercial scene boomed. This is why you’d find me at the “End” for Hardware every month!I was playing raves more regularly and had several residencies, the Matrix Club (Reading) Paradox (Southampton), Alchemy (Portsmouth) & INS (Manchester) and by 2004, had achieved some long standing ambitions by MC-in with the people I'd looked upto for years. Playing a regular slot on Bare Bass Internet Radio and running a studio with Rips, I gained more experience at the same time as reaching more people worldwide.I believe in working with the DJ, warming up a set and just being a bit intelligent about the way I format my hour. For me, it’s about focussing on distancing myself from the standard MC...Safe for checking out My Space!SHOUTS GO OUT TO ANYONE THAT HAS GIVEN ME AN OPPORTUNITY OVER THE YEARS. OUT TO ALL PIRATES, LISTENERS AND RAVERS. BIG UP RIPS & BLAL - PARTNERS IN CRIME! BIG UP ANIL AND ALL AT PARADOX, CARL AND THE REVOLUTION CREW, THC, RED, JP & BIDDLE. LOVE GOES OUT TO ALL MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
