The Bucket Band rocks bars, clubs, parties and festivals with its
potent take on classic Rhythm & Blues. The group hangs its hat
in Rome, Italy (better weather than Chicago) and features vocalist
Junior James, guitarist extraordinaire David D'Amore and bassist
Gyneth Sick.
Junior James was so afraid of thermonuclear meltdown as a kid that he
stuck to the acoustic and only bought an electric ten years ago.
Band star David D'Amore is the subtlest interpreter of the blues
in Italy. Weighing in at 65 kilos he is about 7 feet tall.
Rock-solid bass player Gyneth once played in a symphony orchestra, but when she saw a white -- and eight-months-pregnant -- woman on
bass in a Southside Chicago blues joint, she decided that that was what she wanted to be when she grew up. She played her first gig with
The Bucket Band two weeks before delivering her first child. When the band gets lucky it's joined by Simone Nobile, a fine, fine harp player with a great sound.Drummers Augusto 'Ironside' Zanonzini (a widely respected Italian session man and touring musician), Sandro Salvi (formerly with Roberto Ciotti),
and Francesco Baronetti (a born bluesman who once opened for Simply Red) alternate as the band's backbone.I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
