Luca Sturniolo (Lucafly) was born in Genoa (Italy), January 21st 1970. His passion for music showed up really early. Nine years old he started to play guitar while he used to spend his whole time listenin to Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple. Thirteen years old he went to a record shop and bought Iron Maiden..s Piece of mind just two days after it was out, Killers and the number of the beast. His music interests are really open wide, he loves rock and roll but he..s used to listen Beethoven, Richard Wagner, Simon and Garfunkel and the Cure ( great teenage passion, seventeen years old he takes a runaway from home to join the gig of the british band in Milano at Palaruffini kiss me tour).
Then the first bands 18 years old, Misty Rain, a trio who get inspiration basicly from the cure, early period. In 1992 he founds with some other musicians of Genoa..s scenario the band named Masnada, destinated to get one of the most interesting projects of that period. Long time on the road all over Italy drivin a small renault 4 and gettin gigs evrywhere, small bars and big festivals. In 1995 he selfproduced the maxisingle "Masnada", the result of 3 years of gigs and lot of hours of training in old genoa downtown rehersal places. In 1998 he creates Fly, a coverband project tribute to the golden 70..s, with whom he has the experience of his life in 1999, a clinic gig with Ian Paice (Deep Purple) on drum, the first of 4 unforgettable concerts from 1999 to 2002. Thousands of gigs all over Italy and the south of Europe bring him to the great tournin point ...the craziest thing ever done in his life... the MOVIN TO FINLAND!!!!
After almost five years in this country he collects lot of experience playin in every possible contest ( Big festivals, bars, Clubs, Ferries, private events and wedding gigs).
Nowadays he..s mainly involved in lot of gigs on the ferries like trubadur spreading out a really large repertoir of covers ( over 500 songs in his list). He also has a lot of gigs with bands from Tampere and Helsinki while attending projects for his own songs with Grand Fate from Turku, longing to get it concrete soon.
