About Me

Technically, I've been making music for nigh on 20 years now, but if you disregard the childhood whimsy of disassembling and recording toys, making rubber band-jos, rewiring my 386 to feed q-basic songs from the internal speaker into a stereo, rolling marbles across guitars, and recording my 8 yr old self on a little boombox with built in mic, it's more like 10 years. (Wow, when i put it like that, i wish i had kept some of that) Then i finally got a computer of my own complete with a sound card. I spent a couple of years recording and manipulating sounds in wave editors, learning the finer points of editing before i ever even noticed there were coarser points. Then came the fateful day in early 1999 that i discovered a cheesey little sample sequencing program called Fruity Loops. Since then, it has been my studio of choice and until recently, I used it's native plugins exclusively, trying to make the most of what little was given. I've started to get into some hardware now. I like the limiting factors of dedicated machines, which lend their color and quirks to projects. I currently have a Roland SH-201 Analog Modeling Synth, a Casio CZ-1000 Phase Modulation Synth, Korg ESX1 Sampling Drum Machine, and a Korg R3 Multi-Modeling Synth and Vocoder. Now all i need to do is put this stuff to use and play some shows. It's not for the lack of invitation. Never felt ready, never will. Bite the bullet and act a fool, I might just succeed in the process.
