Normal was founded in the summer of 2002 in Winnipeg by Matthew Allen and Luc Janz. Over the course of the next few years, many members would join, leave, and/or be asked to leave. We played around 10 shows and recorded two albums, only one of which was released.
In the last year, the revolving door of singers was locked up and I (Matt) decided to take over the position. The idea was to have one less headache to have to deal with. It sort of worked out. At that point, the other members decided to leave. I'm sure it was just a coincidence.
In the last little while, myself, Luc, and Yaara (former bass player) moved from Winnipeg to Vancouver in order to stalk our former drummer Patrick. It's due to his kindness and generosity that I was able to record the songs you're listening to right now.
I would like Normal to once again become a gigging band, I just need people to play with. If you are one of those people, please contact me. I'm a very open-minded person and musician, and am willing to try anything at least once.
