I have been in the boxing business for almost 30 years. Originally from Detroit, I now live in Los Angeles. I was the inspiration for the Paramount film, "Against the Ropes" staring Meg Ryan and Omar Epps. I wrote the self-help book "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" and was on the first season of "The Contender" on NBC.
I work with battered women and with kids-at-risk. I have been appointed by Sheriff Lee Baca as the YOUTH SPORTS COORDINATOR for LA County. I help set up boxing gyms in bad neighborhoods and go to various schools and Boys and Girls Clubs to talk to the kids.
I currently manage ten professional boxers. I have had six champions in the past and plan to have more in the future. One of my fighters--Jeannine Garside--is the WIBA Female Featherweight Champion of the World.
I have two fantastic sons--Bryan and Brad, two beautiful daughters-in-law--Stephenie and Molly and two gransons--Chase and Bryce. I live with a terrific guy--Gary Baldassarre--and we have two dogs that we love.
I am now affiliated with Fatal Femmes Fighting, an exciting new outlet for female MMA fighters. We plan to be the UFC of women's MMA. Check www.FatalFemmesFighting.com...
