I live here in Texas with my husband Shawn and my 6 year old son Alex. I've been with my husband for 18 years. My son is non verabl autistic. He doens't talk at all. I didn't choose to be a parent of an autistic child, I was more or less drafted into the world of autism. He has gotten a lot better. He does sleep a lot better now. A few years ago it was a battle just to make him sleep more than 2 hours in a 24 hour period. There are some days when I just want to pull my hair out and scream. It's a challenge having an autistic child. I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world!
