THEY CALL ME....... SIR STUDS
A Young Black Male from South London, started his music Career as a MC in 1999 when going back to back with other MC’s in the school playground, back then know as Smokerkid. The year 2000 saw Smokerkid start a MC collective known as Y.B.T – YOUNG BLACK TALENT. Reaching the end of the year, Sir Studs alongside other MC’s as Mr K (ATM) and Funboy formed a new group called D.Y.T (Dirty Young Thugs) where they clashed (and won) against other MC’s, and recorded mix tapes. D.Y.T then gave Smokerkid a new MC name – MC Haribo (for his love of the packet of sweets!!!) 2001 saw MC Haribo embark on a solo career as a MC, and opened doors for him to try new things.
Then in 2002, Mc Haribo changed his name to Studs, and started a career as a promoter – something to add to his belt. With doing little parties, he then hooked up with Baller Fashion (Sedure Modelling Agency) and did a one of rave. During the build up to the event, Studs became close to one of the DJ’s on the line, DJ Darkchild – who then schooled Studs on the arts of becoming a DJ. Studs became interested in the art of mixing and afters decided to dedicated time towards this.
Come 2004, Studs started playing at his university, a new means of teaching himself how to mix, and being able to play of the crowd. In 2004, Studs met Mr Play who taught Studs the tricks and the trades of how to be a promoter and DJ. Come 2005, Studs met the Play Entertainment Family and met the likes of Chino Money, Martello, Coldsteps and P.Kai.
During the course of his career in Play Entertainment, he then picked up the title Sir (lord knows where from) and was then known as SIR STUDS. The youngest member in Play Entertainment saw a bright future for him as a DJ and promoter.
With the help of Chino Money, Sir Studs was on radio, a “99.3 LIVE FM†every Friday 8-10pm where Sir Studs alongside J.Knox (Play Entrainment) gathered a fan base around London.
With Studs leaving Play Entertainment in 2006, he was pushed to pick up his DJ’ing career from DJ Darkchild and Chino Money. He then spoke to his friend Barnett who as links to the music game. With contacts ranging from Movado to Heartless Crew, Sir Studs and Barnett formed THE FIRST CLASS TEAM (www.myspace.com/firstclassteam)
With two vital bookings from ATM Promotions and GMC, Sir Studs picked up where he left off. Sir Studs hosted for Spark E Devious @ THIS IS WHY I’M FLY and a week later had QUAKES (from QUAKES AND STROLLER) help him bring down the house @ the GMC LAUCH PARTY!
His career was picking up, and with the launch of his first mix CD titled FIRST CLASS – a fan base was picking up.
Numerous bookings and events started to string along. With the help of his brother SEXY SMOKER, Sir Studs brought down the house @ his birthday bash and opened new doors for him. With PARKA PR and SEXY SMOKER doing events such as Being Sexy Aint Easy and Touche, bookings from these events saw a fan base collecting fast!!!
The end of 2007 saw events such as Suave Meets Sophisticated and Being Sexy Aint Easy PT 2. These events showed London how SIR STUDS was as a DJ.
2008 was the start of something new. Creative ideas and good guidance from Dimples (Avit Clothing) allowed Sir Studs to branch away from the crowd.
