A Story
Professor T. Gjellum at the Avant Audio Institute, had for a long time been quite satisfied with his discoveries into the Soniq Obscuratas, he and his crew on the ship Panzerpappa, had solved many mysteries and made breakthroughs in their field of avant muzik. But yet he was intrigued about this, so called "popular music" he from time to time received through his radiophonic device. It's tonal simplicity and awkward catchiness had an alluring effect on the professor. Some solitary experiments were performed, but nothing conclusive was found.
So he called in reinforcements, an old acquaintance, Mr T. Meidell, a dilettante pseudoscientist, notorious for spending most of his days smoking cigarettes, drinking unhealthy amounts of coffee and performing silly experiments. Together a series of expeditions and experiments were performed and their theory of how to make "childrens-avant-punk-pop-prog-for-adults" popularâ„¢ was the result.
Fellow crew member of the Panzerpappa, Biologist-Philosopher A.K. Krabberød, was so impressed by their results, that he used his patented Subsonic Hypno-Generator™ to brainwash the other two, and has since been a valuable asset to the team.
Captain H.P. Alfredsen presented himself as their fourth man, reciting the old proverb that "three is a crowd" He had no prior experience in the field of avant audio, but had been an avid follower on the exploits of the Panzerpappa .
Studying the field of "popular music", it was decided that the best way to present their theories was as lectures and field experiments for the masses, disguised as entertainment in the form of a performing unit or a so called "pop" orchestra. A name was the decided, Tr-Ond And The Suburban Savages, named after a obscure novel.
A collection of their first discoveries was presented in the form of a audio compact disc in December 2007, and thanks to Krabberød..s patanted Subsonic Hypno-Generator™ other more popluar sonic explorers were convinced to contribute with their skills. In the aftermath, a popular series of lectures and field experiments were conducted. But yet they were not satisfied....
So it was decided to spend some more time in the lab experimenting, new discoveries were made and it was decided to present the results as 4 audiologs throughout the year. The first "Dear Forest" will be presented in February 2009
