Tectonic Ox

Tectonic Ox is the realization of 10 year old musical ideas, accumulated during a period spent listening to records and smoking instead of attending school. The core material was programmed or improvised on an amiga 1200 during this period, and also derived trough the experience of building, and jammin with, homemade instruments and found objects. Other essential parts is the collection of sound samples, the combinations of musical elements heard in dreams and qualities of sound and spatial arrangements heard trough and amplified by psychedelic states.Back then i never recorded any finished songs, happy with my recorded fragments and the fact that the songs were already complete and the process ended on an imaginary level, and a while later i stopped engaging in music as an creator and player of instruments. Instead i found intrest in the world, in exploration and poetical exhaltation, in political struggle and the transformations of space, and in theory (geographies, philosophies, psychologies, anthropologies, economics, natural sciences, theories of dynamics and evolution, of communication and language).Even though i have moved on to consume other kinds of music, and also sometimes engage in other types of musical projects (group improvisations and such), my personal musical desires seems blocked by this period, and for that reason Tectonic Ox is a (sentimental?) regression and magical ritual where i try to conjure and animate the spirit of this period to bring it to an real end and proper burial. That is why i am carefully sticking to the musical fragments and ideas from that time, while i in the assembly process grab hold of the lines of creative flight (re-)actualised by this nostalgic atmospheric plunge.Tectonic Ox is to be led to the slaughter for the sake of becoming an exquisite corpse and a carcass that nourish all kinds of new processes. And any requiem is that which is to be buried.
