About Me

Myspace Layouts Hello, My name is Penny Lane, I am a 1972 Volkswagen Camper I started out as a transporter and was converted by ASI in 1972 or 1973 in Beaverton Oregon You can go here to learn more about ASI http://www.type2.com/library/camper/riviera.htm . I am Red but I used to be all white. Now my owner wants me to be two tone blue and white. Being a 34 year old Volkswagen is hard work, Right now my owner is taking apart my engine.. I may even have to have a transplant. I have been on tour with the Grateful Dead I have traveled the country and how with my new family I plan to enjoy many a scenic view.. 1972 Volkswagen Campmobile ASI Riviera American Conversion (Penny Lane) http://www.myspace.com/sellwoodvw - Pics and other infoWe have been in the process of restoring this Bus but now we must let her go. Right now she is not running slap a ring compressor on the 3# piston and shove you are getting two motors with this bus complete with two full sets of tins one motor is currently in the bus it is a 1800CC with a single holly carburetor and a 009 distributor this engine does not have compression on cylinder #2 however you are also getting the replacement head that will fix that problem for ya. You are also getting the second engine I have been rebuilding for this bus its almost done. Another 1800cc It comes with a pair of solex 32 carbs and a DVDA Distributor its super clean and has a working mechanical fuel pump the carbs still need rebuilt. You are also getting the rest of the seals for the windows and the rest of the seals, fuel lines, parts etc. I have purchased for the second engine rebuild. The bus is beautiful very very little rust. Just on the floor in the front. There is a dent behind the slide door which is a easy fix I have not gotten to yet. Inside you have counters, a sink that has a pump handle and the electric pump is not finished yet. A large water tank and a bed that is in wonderful condition. The canvas is in amazing shape the screens are not. I hope I have not left anything out. Please email us with questions and offers. We are in Portland Oregon and I am posting this on the west coast craigslist’s . And on the samba you will need to pick up everything the engine parts are in boxes and the bus is in front of my house. The second engine has an intact exhaust that adds a lot of weight however two men could pick it up and put it in a pickup. Here is a list of other things I have done to it. September 06 Repainted Pop Top and all white accessories. New Taillight assemblies and lights. Restored Original Coleman Stove and Propane tank. December 06 Valve Adjustment Timing New Fuel Lines January 07 New Brakes Added rear speakers Restored Exterior of the Jalousie (Bay) Windows March 07 New Starter New Spark Plugs and Cables New Ignition Points If you are looking for a VW to restore this one is well on its way. It’s a great Bus, full camp setup. Interior is in good shape it has the original Coleman stove and the propane tank has recently been revamped and modernized. Sink and water storage tank. The pop-top is in good shape with minor rips in the screen but the canvas is not even scratched. The ASI Pop top goes straight up instead of at a slant. WE LOVE THIS BUS and we hate to see it go but we need it to go for now. I have a clean title in hand. $3200.00 (or reasonable offer)
