dLTD024 - The Creeping Nobodies - Augurs & Auspices LP

The Creeping Nobodies are one of the longest running bands in Toronto..s constantly evolving music community. Their current line-up encompasses a broad spectrum of the Toronto scene, with ex-members of the Sick Lipstick, Currently in These United States, Parts Unknown, Martyrs, as well as sharing a member with Memories Forever, the art-fantasy team from Boston. Inspired by such bands as The Ex, Pere Ubu, and The Fall, The Creeping Nobodies seek to produce challenging music and are never afraid to explore new territory or re-invent themselves. This recording compiles two previously released E.P.s, and also includes newly recorded material.

dLTD021 Aa - gAame LP/DVD

Aa (say "BIG A little a") has been honing its unique blend of intensely stylized DIY maximalism in the lofts and clubs of New York since 2002. The component parts - three drumsets, a tangle of synthesizers and samplers, dudes shouting - are simple enough. Yet the experience is an utterly unique and giddily engaging gasp of fresh air, a densely imagined, obsessively structured, hyperactive shoplifting spree through the polyrhythmic post-post-punk digital jungle-mall. Earth-shakingly organic beats, squawking, alien samples and group chant-hooks crash headfirst into blissed-out electronic rave-ups - everybody moves, everybody sweats. And yeah, they do their own fucking light show.Aa has played all over the US, having shared the stage/floor/rooftop with such luminaries as Sonic Youth, TV on the Radio, Black Dice, Lightning Bolt, Japanther, Matt & Kim, etc. After a series of lo-fi releases, the band has finally gone hi-fi, sneaking into the studio to record 'GAame', their 1st full-length, with Billy Pavone (The Fall - 'Heads Roll').

dLTD023 No Age - Sick People Are Safe 12" SOLD OUT

NO AGE is the sum of exuberant soundtracking and youthful enthusiasm. Experimental bedroom lust taken to the playground visited by both punk rockers and pop kids; short noisy anthems dropped like bombs over Eden. The devil found idle hands and he put them into work; Sick People Are Safe, the aptly titled twelve-inch's nom de guerre, shames most contemporary music today. When Animal Collective has become a household name and Beat Happening is a distant relic NO AGE sets a new better standard with these four songs. This young duo has paved the punk rock route with an acute sense of explicit artyness and never once does it become pretentious.

dLTD020 Cut City - Exit Decades LP

Hailing from Gothenburg, Sweden, CUT CITY unveil their debut full-length album - a concise, 9-song decree from a trio of musicians experienced in mining the territory between influences of yesteryear and the momentum of the present. CUT CITY first came to the underground's attention in late-2004 when they issued their 4-song debut EP on GSL, immediately drawing comparisons to everything from JOY DIVISION to FRANZ FERDINAND (the latter for the particularly "dancey" feel of the songs, not necessarily the band's actual sound). Upon completing songwriting for the follow-up album, the group ventured into the studio with producer/arranger Kristian Anttila - himself a recognized recording artist in their native Sweden - and committed the 34 minutes comprising Exit Decades to tape. The results suggest a concentrated effort to tap their more aggressive tendencies without sacrificing any of the melody nor the soaring, emotional swells which were so appealing on the band's first EP. A thorough understanding of Factory, Fiction and Rough Trade output circa 1980 is obvious, coupled with a sharp, engaging sense of irony, and the fabulously unique vocals of Max J. Hansson. In all, CUT CITY deliver a timeless, instantly-memorable collection of postpunk classics for a new generation.

dLTD019 Mika Miko - C.Y.S.L.A.B.F. LP

Mika Miko has made a name for themselves by being truly on their own program. The 5 piece all female ..punk.. band will defend the term with all their power because they are just that, an amazing Punk band, both in spirit and attitude.Pounding their way through interesting, fast, pop songs that leave you wondering how they pull the steam all the way through. Imagine a high school dance where Red Cross, Black Flag, X-Ray Spex, The Slits and The Germs are all playing at with an updated flare of excitement and anxiousness. That feeling you are thinking of is the feeling of Mika Miko and the sound you are imagining is only part of the equation that makes Mika Miko a local favorite in L.A. and everywhere else.
