Rowan Tree

About Me

Row´an tree..: The Rowan tree grows throughout northern Europe as well as in the northeast part of North America. Many traditions have evolved from the belief common among many Celtic people that the Rowan tree could offer protection from evil spirits.

Rowan Tree, Evansville, Indiana's own Celtic Traditional group is nearly five years in the making. Once it was just a dream thought up by Beth Reasoner and Dan Craig, it is now a band comprised of six talented musicians. Rowan Tree's birthplace can be pinpointed to Evansville, Indiana's best kept secret, Penny Lane Coffee House, where local artists are given the chance to shine whether it be in a band with song, poetry, painting, or even sculpting. 2006 Evansville Living Magazine voted Sunday evenings with Rowan Tree at Penny Lane Coffee House "The Best Place to Spend a Sunday Evening." With the help of this wonderful venue Rowan Tree is able to create the setting of an Irish pub within Ireland with their instruments as well as their vocal harmonization.

In 2008, Rowan Tree will appear in concert throughout Ireland with the University of Southern Indiana Chamber Choir, performing several newly composed pieces for choir and traditional instruments.
