The Arcadia Summit

About Me

The Arcadia Summit started things off in early 2007 with a bang. One part metal, one part hardcore, and one part indie rock The Arcadia Summit had a very unique and experimental style. Singer Matt(Stu) Maranto, guitarist Duane Williams and drummer Ian Murray all formerly of the band To Kill Something Pure started this project. Shortly after a few songs were written Noah Nichols from the band Shirts at Mardi Gras joined the group as second guitarist and Danny Williams joined the group as bassist.
After a few months of hard work The Arcadia Summit finally had enough material to share the stage with a few great bands such as Beneath the Sky, Showbread and Mortise. The first few shows proved The Arcadia Summit was a force to be reckoned with around the Columbus metal scene.
In February 2007 The Arcadia Summit released their first self titled 3 song demo with Dave “Big Dave” Eubanks of Red Dice Productions. Many demos were pressed and handed out at shows, but it did little good for problems began to arise with drummer Ian Murray. The band parted ways with Ian in March 2007 and shortly after picked up Drummer Brad Hudson formerly of For the Proud.
When Brad joined the band new material was written and old songs were re-written. Things defiantly seemed to be going on the right track for the band until the band started playing shows. For the first 4-5 shows equipment failure really brought the band to its knees. Amps were failing, cymbals were cracking and strings were breaking. At this point anything that could possibly go wrong would go wrong for sure.
Things did end up getting better for The Arcadia Summit. In the next few months they went on a streak playing shows with bands such as Bury Your Dead, Misery Signals and The Chariot. At this point the band had built up enough money and new material to record another 3 song demo.
In July 2007 a new demo was recorded at the Lava Room studio in Cleveland. Great songs were tracked but when all was said and done the demo did not turn out the way that the band had liked. It was never officially released. In the mean time the band did play more great shows with bands such as Trivium, Kittie and It Dies Today.
Shortly after the demo was finished the band parted ways with guitarist Noah Nichols. Things went slow for a while. Danny Williams was moved over from bass to guitar. But the band was still missing a key member. Months went by but still no one was found worthy of the position.
In April 2008 the band finally joined forces with bassist Myles Mccain formerly of the band Adherent. The band is currently having lots of fun and writing much needed new material. The band is set to record another demo in June 2008 and is currently taking as many show offers as possible.
Febuary 2009 the band parted ways Myles Mccain and picked up bassist Jason Gaylord formerly of And Hell Follows. After a long break the band is hoping to put together some more shows and have another 3 years of man love..
