" I have my days. I have a teacup in one hand and a drumstick or gun in the other.. so it depends"- Lilia, November 2006
Break Up is fronted by Lilia and a sometimes Andrew who have met in a previous lifetime and would have met about 4 times through other people in San Diego eventually. We like to collaborate, listen, and appreciate old music . To kind of see the roots of where it all began.
"I have a vision of capturing that unanimous record - the one that everyone in their particular generation had on their shelves growing up- no matter what they listened to. Everyone you knew had it because it was that simple, it was that accesible. It had something to say. I want to be part of that essense." - Lilia, 2006
"Its kinda hard to give a shit about alot of the new bands coming out now. Well were a quote on quote new 'band' so basically were not stereotyping but lets face it, I was born in the wrong era because the majority of the bands I love aren't around anymore. I just dont get todays concept if you will, whatever that should be. Its like alot of the bands now dont have any kind of integral 'values' . I cant help hear about a band that sounds like the Strokes , and Ill ask them if they ever heard of the Modern Lovers. They dont even KNOW who the Modern Lovers were.. Its just that kind of thing."-Lilia, November 2006
