Band Members: "THE GAME CHANGERS" INCLUDE HEAVY CHILL & KAKI MAC, JBEATS, MAD INSANITY, PIMP NICK & DIZZY DIn a time when most people feel that the rap industry is in a comatose state, Kaki Mac & Heavy Chill came alone like a respirator, ready to breathe life back into a dying art form. Our type of no holds barred music is long over due in an industry that has become more about image than substance. The Jackson, Tennessee born duo has suffered their fair share of battle scars, but remains focused and determined to prove their worthiness to the world. Formed when the group was in high school, the group garnered local fame by taking on all contenders in their high school cafeteria and neighborhood street corners. After realizing that their talents could succeed on a higher level, the group took their act into the place that meant the most, the studio. Influenced by different genres of music, the duo merged their different personalities and opinions into a sound that distinguished them from most of their counterparts. After recording dozens of songs, not to mention appearing on most local artists tapes and cd..s, the group would go on to achieve commercial success by being the only local group in Jackson TN to ever have two songs in heavy rotation simultaneously for nearly two years. Radio play would also lead the group into performing in shows locally. In fact as of today, the group has performed in more than 80 shows locally and nationally. After earning their stripes in nightclubs and other venues, the group eventually took their show on the road. While performing in places ranging from Memphis Tennessee to Miami to Jacksonville Florida to Daytona Florida and becoming the only group ever from Jackson TN to perform at Spring Bling opening for the likes of 8Ball & MJG, The Cash Money Millionaires, Luke, Lil Flip, David Banner, Mystikal, TI, Yung Joc,Crime Mob, Kia Shine, Yo Gotti, Playa Fly, Gangsta Blac, Skinny Pimp and many more plus they had the opportunity to meet hitmakers such as Lil Jon,P. Diddy & Jermaine Dupri, this instilled in the group the confidence that indeed they could hold their own with any act in the business. When asked, what the most important asset that they possess is, they answered with a two part answer. ..We feel that our music is more indicative of the way that most people who listen to us feel. We speak about everyday topics from politics to partying, everything that the average person feels whether you live in the ghetto or suburbs. Secondly, we feel as though we have one thing that every artist or entertainer should posses, versatility. To make it in this profession you have to be able to speak on a wide array of topics, otherwise you will become nothing more than a fad. We are looking to achieve longevity and make a historical impact versus just trying to have that one hit and fade into obscurity. Most artists nowadays are trying to make a quick buck by going against the trend. Rap went commercial because after 2Pac and Biggie died, rappers became afraid to talk to the streets. There..s nothing wrong with being able to have commercial success because that..s how you get noticed, but it..s also nothing wrong with being balance in your approach. After all, rap was started in the streets and most people who come from the streets spend their hard earned money on records, give people their money..s worth!.. And giving people their money..s worth is exactly what Kaki Mac and Heavy Chill are going to do with each album they drop. ..Our music is and always will be quality checked. If you are going to spend money on our music it is imperative to us that we make your purchase worthwhile. Our fans are important to us, anything we produce will reflect on our fans as well as ourselves. We love what we do and we hope our fans have that same love as well. Anyone interested in our products should know one thing and that is, Kaki Mac and Heavy Chill will always go that extra mile to ensure that whatever we do will be a hundred percent effort on our part, to be not just good but GREAT. Put your trust in us and we will never let you down. Our goal is to be the very best, not just of our time but of all time.
