In recent years, the genre of Rock has fragmented into a non-cohesive
portfolio of styles. Rock Radio is dominated by fun yet simplistic Pop
songs, Progressive Rock has spiraled into a self-indulgent style that only
musicians can appreciate and outside influences such as Hip-Hop and
Hardcore seem to be forcing their way into a poorly executed fusion.Out of this environment, four musicians of diverse musical backgrounds
have come together to form I SEE SPIES. There is no effort to try and be
anything other than the sum of its parts. Progressive Rock, Hardcore,
Pop-Punk and Radio Rock are all represented in I SEE SPIES. It is a true
representation af Rocks past and a glimpse at Rocks future.I SEE SPIES was formed in 2002 in Boulder Co. by Scott Donnell, the former
guitarist of Denver Hard Rock band Scarred By Life. Ben Roy, the former
vocalist of East-Coast Hardcore band Thousand Year Suffering, was added
to the roster a few months after. The band went through several line-up
changes before Donnell and Roy joined the remnants of Denver Progressive
Rock band Overhand Right: bassist Tim Erwin and drummer Darryl Rivet.
The collaboration of these four musicians created what is now.. I SEE SPIES.
