I Beat Power nascono da un'idea di Rudy Ruzza, gia' storico bassista degli Statuto, con l'intenzione di rievocare le magiche atmosfere del Beat italiano degli anni 60-70 filtrandole con un suono lievemente piu' rock e aggressivo. Il repertorio varia dall'esecuzione di brani incisi in quegli anni da artisti italiani come covers di pezzi stranieri (vedi "I'm a Believer" che diventava "Sono bugiarda" di Caterina Caselli) a produzioni totalmente nostrane come "Il paradiso", firmata Battisti ed eseguita dalla mitica Patty Pravo. Dopo alcuni cambi di elementi, la band si stabilizza nel 2000 in una formazione a quattro: basso (Rudy Ruzza), chitarra (Enrico Maria Ronchail), batteria e voce solista (Marco Napoli) e voce solista al femminile (Rosanna Chiaro/Meglio Soul); i cori sono affidati ai quattro musicisti. Le prime apparizioni live ottengono effetti lusinghieri, da ricordare in particolare l'apparizione al Bierfest di Susa nel settembre 2000 davanti circa 10.000 spettatori. Tra le tante apparizioni, una serata svoltasi a PECHINO per la camera di commercio. Pur nella coscienza di non aver inventato niente, e potendo spaziare in un repertorio che puo' soddisfare un pubblico dai 15 ai 60 anni, l'intenzione della band e' di offrire 2 ore di puro divertimento, dove poter cantare e ballare insieme questi brani che, nonostante l'eta', continuano a rinnovarsi nell' interesse e nel cuore della gente....as suggested by the name itself... it's a Beat Band. The original idea came out several years ago.. due to the bass player Rudy Ruzza, once member of the historical Mod-Ska band from Turin: The Statuto. The band's aim is to recall the Italian beat magic atmosphere of the Sixties and Seventies, playing songs with their own (a little bit more rock), arrangements. Their music is a collection of songs by that 'golden age' Italian artists, who by themselves, used to translate foreign successes such as I'm a Believer (The Monkees), that in Italian becomes Sono Bugiarda, sung by Caterina Caselli. Otherwise authentic Italian songs such as Il Paradiso, written by the famous Italian song-writer and singer Lucio Battisti, became a hit thanks to the interpretation of the blonde myth Patty Pravo. After some member exchanges the band gets complete and definitive in 2000. Them all are 4: bass (Rudy), guitars (Enrico), drums (Marco), solo female (Rosanna) and male (the drummer) vocals; the choirs are by the musicians themselves. Many.. many gigs ....during all these years; here are some of the most important: Susa Bierfest on September 2000 before 10.000 people, one in Beijing in 2002. We well know not to be suchlike of original music inventors, but with our repertoire we can surely satisfy an audience from 15 to 60 years old. We want to offer two hours of pure entertainment and sing and dance with our spectators all that beautiful songs that are still so alive in people..s mind and that there will remain all over the years.
