PEOPLE. their hows and whys and whats. LIFE. its continuous unraveling yet all the more becoming mysterious. DANCE. the rhythm and movement of the body. MUSIC. though it doesn't seem interested in me. VALKYRIES. winged horses and iron maidens looking for honorable souls to bring to valhalla.
nagmamahal sa buhay. kapwa-manlalakbay.
passion. the expression of the soul. listening to it or making it, it is there to capture the little intricacies of our lives. but if you are asking me what kind, most anything (except heavy metal) but particularly those that i can dance to.
the ones in my mind are usually better that what i watch. but even so, i relish being in a cinema, especially since i find comfort in the dark and being invisible. all time favorites include: stand by me, babel, malena, amelie, dead poet's society, ten things i hate about you, cinema paradiso and drumline. andiyan na rin ang jologs at minsan minahal kita.
idiot box they say. i have to agree. though i am one of those idiots who find comfort in watching it. most of my flipping takes me to disney channel, nickelodeon, AXN, HBO, MTV, Discovery and National Geographic. Mostly I'm into cartoons (I haven't grown up!). what they are really? heroes. super inggo. america's next top model. project runway. csi. csi miami. csi ny. i didn't know that.
the best place to get good books are second-hand stores. the dilapidated cover and the dog-eared pages make them more endearing... hiding a history that may be more interesting than the novel itself. but most of the time i immerse myself in the modern mythology of Neil Gaiman (including his comics), the dark and wild imagination of Stephen King, the ridiculous and wild imagination of Roald Dahl, and the cheesy philosophy of Paulo Coelho. There is this one book that does not seem to exist in the world wide web though that I extremely love.... The Greatest Thing Since Sliced Bread by Pat Robertson. Anybody read it? Andyan din ang Eistein's Dreams ni Alan Lightman and Shel Silverstein's The Missing Piece, The Missing Piece Meets the Big O and The Giving Tree.
all my teen-age years i have immersed myself in the life of spandex-clad heroes of X-Men and New Mutants. from the sultry sexiness of Psylocke to the mysterious trench-coated Gambit. but my favorite would be Danielle Moonstar... a Cheyenne Indian turned Valkyrie turned assassin who can make you see your greatest fears and/or desires (but what's the diff, really?). And then there is Tim Kring's Heroes now. Who doesn't love Hiro Nakamura? But I adore Matt Parkman, too. For real life heroes... people who work for the greater good. They are usually unnamed and unknown.
