D-nine started in 1998 as a six-piece band. Playing their first gig in Wynnum where most of the band was from.....4178.
Over the next couple of years d-nine got working and playing with some other brisbane bands. Playing gigs at the Railway Hotel and later the Gabba Hotel with mostly punk bands.
A couple of member changes and a member addition in 2001 made D-NINE then a seven-piece band. Drums, bass, two guitars, two vocals, samples. This is also the year that debut album "High Binder" was recorded.
Following the release of High Binder on Ward 69 Records, d-nine toured through Canberra and Sydney, scored a Metal for the Brain slot, supported Strapping Young Lad and later played in Adelaide. D-nine has also played on all the Overcranked festivals - while the band was together. D-Nine called it a day in May 2005.
After almost 3 years, the band played a "reunion" gig at Infernofest in March 2008. The band was well accepted at the gig. Playing a short set of entirely old songs, most were from 'High Binder' with a couple of newer ones thrown in. The gig was played as a seven-piece, the same line-up as when we split in 2005.
April 2008 the band has decided to continue as a five-piece. We have been working on songs for half the year and recorded demos of 8 songs at the end of December. The music out of the way for those, lyrics will be written by the vocalists and new songs are underway musically. We plan to go and demo a few more songs as soon as they're done and then we'll be jamming to fine-tune the songs before we record the album before the end of the year.
