Stumbling home, peeing in your neighbors bushes. J/K I'm a teacher now, and as corny as it sounds, a lot of my interest now a days is in my classroom. Cue the "aaawwww"s. The boyfriend and I are always busy busy with home improvement projects, I've learned a lot from him, as well as toned some muscles - its hard work! Umm, and I guess I'm looking forward to expanding my knowledge via my new convenient internet access...again, refer to above comment about computer illiteracy.
umm, I always thought Richard Pryor would be a cool cat to hang out with. Random, I know, but I'm trying to keep this honest and fresh off the top of my head. Ooohh, you mean on myspace? Well, I'm trying to make friends and family my priority these days, so all those who've come and gone...
lots! I have to give credit to my father on this one. I was raised with music. No, I was raised in a CULTURE of music. Dad played in band, when band wasn't "jammin'" at the house there was a record playing - always. I woke to music, I fell asleep to music. There's a cute photo of my big brother when he was a toddler sleeping on top of a blaring speaker! That's how accustomed to it you had to be. Anyway, I did not inherit his guitar skillz, however I did come out with a deep respect for music. There are types I prefer over others at certain times in my life, at certain times of the day! But I have an ultimate appreciation for all music. There's a time and a place for everything, you know? Let's see, what do I have in my car case right now; bad religion and social d. (i dont think i'll ever grow out of it) r.h.chili peppers, toadies (relatively unknown but a top pick), dick dale (think surfer/pulp fiction theme song), j.cash (no, i really DID like him before he was popular! Also, boyfriends favorite), jack johnson (curious george is a welcome break from "the more we get together" in my classroom -recommend to parents with young kids for listening pleasure), billy idol, louis prima and billie holiday (i think i tend to get into big band around the holidays, except for "ol' blue eyes"- breaks my heart), beatles (are sentimental in my family, at least for me), hendrix, zeppelin, the animals (house of the rising sun), no doubt (early stuff, through tragic kingdom only really),outkast, scarface, celly cell, snoop (reminds me of young days), bob marley (reminds me of young HIGH days...wait, i guess snoop does too..anyway..), michael jackson (come on guys, just TRY not to dance to it), erykah badu, patsy cline (walkin' after midnight), fiona apple, cyndi lauper and madonna (so unusual and virgin were first albums ever!), dido (you may know her as the "eminem" chick from the "stan" song), jethro tull, some old ragtime mix (think music from "O'brother where art thou"), and in my player is either portishead or yeah yeah yeahs (joan jett aint got shit on me rockin' out to y.y.y's in my car - im a frickin' rock star!) That's the best sample of stuff i can think of right now.
lets see...TMNT comes to mind. Uhh, dumb and dumber, view askew movies ( mallrats, clerks, etc,), breakfast club, royal tenenbaums, rushmore, ewww ewww - Batman! Fear and Loathing, uhhh, i really like 50 first dates, I was in awe of march of the penguins but am too sensitive to ever be able to watch it again - as tempting as morgan freemans narrative is. OH, bill and ted, army of darkness ( about as scary a movie as i can enjoy - boyfriend loves them-sucks for me), animated movies have been more and more enjoyable ever since...i think around Shrek, disney classics, and japanese anime when the mood strikes. Obviously my taste is in really EPIC FILMS. Actually star wars and godfather should be in there too.
Im diggin on the office and my name is earl. Just getting into 30 rock. My boys.
currently im trying to read "the red tent", but most often I don't have time to read after all the college text book reading every week. Fortunately those are usually semi interesting. Do comic books count? What about Calvin and Hobbes? I read a lot in my classroom - in fact most of my library at home consists of my childhood favorites; shel silverstein, roald dahl, louis sachar, and frank baum (all the "oz" books)
Jon Stewart (of the daily show) ...and president bush. "fool me once and uyer fiv argh never fool me again!"
