____________________________________________________________ _________________________ I play electric fretted & fretless bass guitar as well as acoustic upright bass. I started my playing career as a self-taught pianist and later turned over to the dark side of the bass playing fraternity. I've graduated from the South African College of Music at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. I have in my short career been privileged enough to have played with most of the great South African musicians, musical directors and conductors as well as some great international artists. I have also written and arranged music for fellow musicians and I have produced tracks for artists as well. My musical preference is torn between jazz, soul and funk music. I'll play anything I can and I'm not scared to attempt things I have not played..I have aspirations to continue studying and achieve a Masters Degree in music but I'd also like to focus on education and, in so doing, social development in Cape town and also South Africa.South African artists I've worked with include: Frank & Tony Paco, Kevin Gibson, Kesivan Naidoo, Ivan Bell, Denver Furness, Clement Benny, Alvin & Errol Dyers, Chris, Tony & Hilton Schilder, Nic Le Roux (Passed Away), Eddie Jooste (Passed Away), Mark Fransman, Buddy Wells, Carlo Mombelli, Marcus Wyatt, Syndey Mnisi, Feya Faku, Winston 'Mankunku' Ngozi, Shannon Mowday, Ezra & Duke Ncgukana, Amanda Tiffin, Melanie Scholtz, Brandon October, Bianca LaGrange, Mynie Grove, Sonja Heroldt, Sarah Theron, Melissa Van De Spuy. International Artists I've worked with include: Ron McCurdy, Chris Collins, Mike Rossi, Kat Dyson, Jimmie Earl Perry, Darius Brubeck, Dennis Tini, David Taylor. Bands I've worked with include: The Little Giants, South African National Youth Jazz Band, South African National Youth Big Band, UCT Big Band, Mike Campbell Orchestra, Mike Campbell Big Band, Junction 021 Big Band, James Frank & The Sticky Triggers (Big Band), The DA Band (Darryl Andrews), The Glen Robertson Band, The Alvin Dyers Band, The Semantics, Nightshift, DNA Strings, The Muirhead Quartet, Five of A Kind, Breakfast Included. It has truly been a beautiful journey so far...
