About Me
My name is Ed Brosseau and I am originally from Knoxville, Tennessee. I am a retired Air Force NCO. I am enjoying starting life all over again, this time as a martial arts instructor. While I was in the military (Power Pro), I had the privilege of traveling to unique places that I NEVER would have seen and working with all different branches of the military as well as military from many different countries. I also learned that my little world is REALLY little still. I've been blessed to make many new lifelong friends in all of my travels. My journies have taken me to South Korea, Philippines, Thailand, Germany, France, Italy, Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia, Greece, Crete, Turkey, Saudi Arabia,Qatar, Japan, Okinawa, England & Ireland to name a few. Also quite a few places within the good Ole USA.
I am part owner and Head Instructor in a martial arts academy. Started learning in Knoxville, Tennessee with Isshinryu Karate. Went to Kwang-ju Korea in 1983 and studied Kuk Sool Won under Chong Kwang Jang Nym, Jin Sang-Un and finally earn my first Black Belt. I stayed in touch with Master Jin through the years and am now Sabumnym in the Korean Martial Arts system of Ho Kuk Mu Sul. For this opportunity, I am Eternally grateful to you sir! "Komapsumnida" . Practiced Kali, Arnis and Eskrima in the Phillipines "Maraming Salamat Po" for the chance my friends. Went to Thailand while I was stationed in the Phillipines and toughened up every bone in my fragile body sparring with the Muy Thai guys (OUCH). Awesome people "Kob Kun Kop" my friends. Started practicing taijiquan in Wichita, Kansas of all places. I currently teach the traditional Korean martial art Ho Kuk Mu Sul under the same master that taught me Kuk Sool Won way back when I was in Korea. In between and during all this, I have been exposed to many systems and styles, am somewhat versed in many and have learned to add what I see as beneficial from many of them. Bruce Lee taught me that a long long time ago, even though I never had the honor of meeting him or his son, Brandon. Anyway, My friend and partner Carlos and I have created "Goldsboro Elite Martial Arts Academy" here in Goldsboro, NC. We have so much to offer. I feel this venture will be a great success for us. I have started a My Space page for the school too. I hope to make is something useful for my students and friends.
