His first guitar, was a $12.00 Sears acoustic special, a Christmas gift, purchased out of the Sears catalog, by his parents, when he was just 7 years old. This guitar and his dog, became his best friends. This guitar would eventually be destroyed, eaten and chewed up by his dog. This did not stop his love for playing guitar, he received another guitar and went on to study classical, jazz, folk and rock. Later on in life, at college he studied music & theology in Nashville, becoming part of a traveling troupe of musicians, playing to audiences throughout the south and Midwest. His wide range of interests included fund raising for anti- drug youth groups, playing concerts in College, prisons & hospitals.
Dennis, also known for his original kids family/childrens compostions, Instrumental Guitar Sketches and a wide variety of songwriting, including American Baseball Songs & Circus Songs both (co-written with John Tartaglione ). Also, children’s Favorite songs such as : Peanuts Popcorn & Cotton Candy, Limber Up for the Limbo, Pagliacci the Clown, WACKY WACKY WABBITTS, ISH KABIBBLE, AND THE KOOKABORO JAMBOREE, delivers a refreshing new sound to children’s music. Dennis has been a past president of the NY Sumi-e Watercolor Association of America, Whose works have been exhibited at the National Arts Gallery in NYC. under the tutelage of Master Sumi-e Artist , Mitsuko Bickham.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
