HISTORY....
JUDGEMENT DAY WAS BORN ON OCTOBER 12TH 1993 AT GLOBAL VILLAGE WHITLEY BAY.
WHEN REZERECTION PARTED THE NORTH EAST IN DECEMBER 1992 THERE WERE NO HARDCORE EVENTS IN THE NORTH EAST.
THERE WERE RAVE CLUBS RUNNING BUT THEY WERE MAINLY PLAYING ITALIAN HOUSE.
JUDGEMENT DAY PICKED UP WHERE REZ LEFT OFF AND BROUGHT THE HARDCORE BACK TO THE NORTH EAST.
RUN BY THE DJ "BASS GENERATOR" JD BROUGHT BACK THE BEST IN HARDCORE WITH THE BIGGEST DJ'S AND PA'S IN THE SCENE.
STARTING OUT AT A SMALL CLUB CALLED GLOBAL VILLAGE IN 1993 WITH DJ'S INCLUDING LENNY DEE AND JOEY BELTRAM, THE EVENTS PROGRESSED INTO SCOTLAND WITH SELL OUT SHOWS AT THE LEGENDARY "FUBAR CLUB" AND THEN (WITH THE HELP OF HYPEMASTER MIKEY B) TO THE UNIVERSITY VENUE IN NEWCASTLE WHERE 1500+ RAVERS WOULD TURN OUT ON ANY NIGHT OF THE WEEK (WEDNESDAYS/THURSDAYS AT FIRST! BEFORE THEY WERE ALLOWED A SATURDAY NIGHT).
ALWAYS A SELL OUT, NO AGE RESTRICTIONS, THE UNIVERSITY EVENTS GO DOWN IN HISTORY WITH THE NEWCASTLE RAVERS.
EVENTS WERE CENTRED IN NEWCASTLE BUT HAVE ALSO BEEN HELD RIGHT ACROSS THE COUNTRY FROM PENZANCE ON THE SOUTH WEST COAST OF ENGLAND TO ELGIN ON THE NORTH EAST COAST OF SCOTLAND.
EVENTS WERE HELD IN SOME CLASSIC VENUES... CLUB KINETIC IN STOKE, THE DONCASTER WAREHOUSE, THE ROYAL HIGHLAND CENTRE IN EDINBURGH, THE FUBAR IN STIRLING TO NAME BUT A FEW!
THE EVENTS CAME TO AN INEVITABLE END IN 1999 WHEN THE HARDCORE SCENE NOSEDIVED AROUND THE U.K. AND THE PEOPLE STOPPED COMING!.
BADLY BEHAVED "CHARVERS" RUINED IT FOR EVERONE BY CAUSING TROUBLE AT EVERY EVENT THROUGH 1999, THE UNIVERSITY MANAGEMENT FINALLY SAID THEY'D HAD ENOUGH AND PULLED THE PLUG ON ANY FUTURE EVENTS.
WE APPROACHED OTHER NIGHTCLUBS AND VENUES IN NEWCASTLE BUT NONE WOULD ALLOW A RAVE EVENT TO EVER TAKE PLACE. DUE TO THE BAD PRESS IN THE EARLY 90'S THAT FIXED INTO THE MINDS THAT ALL RAVERS TAKE AND DEAL DRUGS IN CLUBS, NO ONE WOULD RISK LOSING THEIR LICENSE.
JUDGEMENT DAY TRIED ONE MORE PUSH INTO SCOTLAND IN 2000 BUT WITH A VERY POOR TURN OUT WE HAD TO ADMIT TO DEFEAT AND WRAP IT UP.
