About Me

In the early 80’s, as Disco was evolving into Underground House music, DJ Quest-One AKA Dana S. Hudson surfaced on the Connecticut dance scene with his unique interpretation of rhythms and harmonious blending of vocals and beats. DJ Quest is held in high esteem by his peers within the music industry for his radio broadcasting finesse and for the role that he played in the development of dance music on domestic college radio. This accomplished DJ is accredited with establishing the dance format on WFCS 107.7 FM, where he rocked the airwaves for two years with his weekly weekend Mixmaster jam sessions broadcasting live throughout the tri-state area. Simultaneously, this skilled DJ slammed the turntables during his 2 year residency, at Elmer’s, the trendy night club located on the Central Connecticut State University campus. Quest-One’s distinctive mixing style of dance music led to numerous DJ guest appearances across the east coast including his monthly gig at the underground hot spot Club Graffiti in Manchester, CT and a guest spot at the ultra-Chic lounge 125 in downtown Philadelphia, PA., During the 2007 Winter Music Conference festivities in South Beach, Florida he worked the wheels of steel at Club Amendment XXI with DJ Peace and Area 51 with Bobby and Steve, the UK dynamic DJ duo.. Quest-One is recognized and respected by the dance community for the contributions that he has made to the evolution of dance music of the South Florida club scene by bringing the NY Garage and Chicago House flavor and style to Orlando. After relocating to Orlando, this accomplished DJ quickly established himself on the Florida club scene with his explosive soulful house dance sets at the hippest venues including the underground café, The Crooked Bayou, the ultra-chic nightclub Red Star Tavern, the gay hot spot Screamers, the fashionable Socca Ultra lounge, the ritzy Peacock Room, the trendy Sky 60 rooftop nightclub and the funky Buddha lounge. His infamous underground dance sets at the Mark lounge located in downtown Orlando led to his monthly Saturday night dance mix showcases on Rollin’s College radio, WPRK 91.5 FM, which solidified Quest-One’s ranking as one of the most popular DJ’s in Orlando. Over the past two decades, DJ Quest-One has spun alongside numerous notable global DJs including; Hippie Torrales, Jason Heinrichs, Craig Alexander, Mike Clark, Master Kev, M-Traxxx, and Ray Coker. Recently, this multi talented DJ, shared the turntables with Chicago legend, Roy Davis Jr., at the infamous Firestone, the hottest dance music venue in Orlando. As CEO and Founder of Orlando based entertainment group, SOUL ELEVATION MUSIC LLC, Quest-One demonstrates his relentless passion for music, his innate gift for interpretation of rhythm and harmony and his dedication to honing his craft, which are the driving forces behind his success within the music industry and is what makes him a musical force to be reckoned with. You can now catch Quest-One and the rest of the SOUL ELEVATION MUSIC family each and every Thursday from 9-11pm (EST)on Cyberjamz internet radio. Influences: I've always been attracted to the real stuff - Music with Soul. A lot of the music these days are missing that main ingredient,"SOUL". I'm into all types of music; rock, jazz, blues, and funk to name a few, and my record collection speaks for that. When it comes to dance, house, and hip-hop music there were three CT local deejays that were my earliest influences (Chris Walsh, Keith Hardy, and D.j. Dr.9). These three guys made me want to be a discjockey. It wasn't until I heard Shep Pettibone and Tony Humphries (kiss 98.7 master mix N.Y.) that I started to take deejaying more seriously. The next group of deejays that influenced me greatly was Kenny Carpenter, "Little" Louie Vega, Todd Terry, and Timmy Regisford. These deejays were my earliest influences. I can't forget about the early hip-hop influences (Red Alert, Jazzy Jeff, Grand Master Flash, Cash Money, Funk Master Flex, Grand Master-D, Bob Cat & Tat-Money). All these discjockeys have a huge influence on what I do today.
