The youngest of four children, I loved to sing. We were of course known as "The King Family" and since my Father was our Pastor we had to do a lot of singing at different churches in Athens, GA. It wasn't until he became a Pastor in Atlanta that I was really introduced to gospel music. After graduating from high School I continued my education at Clark College and completed 3 years before my Father died. After the passing of my Father in 1973, I really didn't know what to do so I joined a quartet and traveled for about a year. I then returned home to continue my education and get my degree. It was during this valley experience that I accepted my call into ministry. I met with my Pastor, Dr. Jonathan Grier who put me to work as a choir director and a member of the evangelism team. In 1979 I moved to Oakland, CA and in December of 1979 I joined Love Center Ministries. In 1980 Edwin Hawkins asked me to join the Love Center Choir. In 1982 Pastor Hawkins along with his uncle Elder Joe King ordained me into ministry. In 1983 we recorded Love Alive 3 and I co-recorded "When The Battle is Over". In 1990 I was asked by my Pastor to co-lead "the Just Shall Live" with him and that was indeed an honor. Pastor again asked me to lead on Love Alive Five. I co-recorded "Joy". After 27 years of ministry at Love Center I am currently working as: Facilitator of the Ministers Board, Facilitator of Excell Convalescent Home (where we have sunday morning service), Bereavement Coordinator, Teacher in our Christian Education Dept., a member of Membership Services and the Church Counsel. Now it is 2008 and the Lord has given me a vision to start my own business. With the help of my VP and best friend Dottie Sterling we will move forward to making this vision become a reality. We will be coming forth real soon, so stay tuned for something great is about to happen. Now after 18 years of service as Facilitator of the Ministers Board, I have now accepted my call to a higher position in Christ. It has been a wonderful trip but now we move forward.
