*********** composing primarily from the piano and from handmade beats, jen pumo creates music that is melodic, articulate and cinemascopic. enjoying influences from folk to idm, the fusion within her work intimates sincere focus and artistry. her voice is sultry, soothing and humane. she lays bare her questions and assertions in a manner that is at once philosophical and longing. ***********Now living in majestic Colorado, I grew up in Miami, where the frenetic and colorful cultural condition inspired me to find my own voice. My relationship with the piano began at eleven. In this I began to cultivate the finesse and ability to express my feelings and manifest my wishes. My first love, the piano allows my genuine voice to sound. College eventually produced a degree in philosophy and led me to the guitar and djembe as more portable vehicles of expression. I began writing and performing my own songs to understand and create my life.
Drawing inspiration and influence from all aspects of life and nature, my musical influences are varied and multitudinous but my favorites include Clara Ponty, Radiohead and the Smashing Pumpkins, the incomparable lyrical mastery of Bob Dylan, and the passion of Indian ragas. I am devoted to the liberation and spirituality of the creative process. With my genuine desire for authentic expression, I hope to inspire and encourage the sharing and exciting of personal passion.
October marked the release of my first album, All Over The Moon, which I co-wrote and co-produced with my dear friend the insurmountable Graham Pearce. The album has received very good reviews so far and we are so pleased that it is providing deep enjoyment and healing for so many people. ************************************************************

At present I am excited and BLESSED to be collaborating with brillant players: Ben Loshin- an TO-THE-EXTREME gifted drummer (and tom petty impersonator), Randy Hetherington, a richly dynamic multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, talented engineer and downright nebula, and Eric Holgate, a simply stunning hero of basstastic, geometrical proportions. Lucky meeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!*************************************

Best Purveyor of Electro-Pop (2008)
Jen PumoAdding electronics to traditional songs isn't exactly new. Decades after the form's pioneers began experimenting with Moogs and other doodads, however, many musicians still find it difficult to use this technology in an expressive way. Not so Pumo, whose most recent disc, All Over the Moon, finds her and collaborator Graham Pearce using the inherent chilliness of electronic accoutrements to enhance the atmosphere of such compelling tracks as "Sandstone" and "Space Girl." For both her sound and her future, the sky's the limit.**********************On All Over the Moon, Jen Pumo plays it cool. Rather than over-emoting, she layers imagistic lyrics over atmospheric soundscapes well worth ex-ploring. Her performances are unfailingly compelling, even though she seldom raises her voice. The album's production fuses piano and other traditional instrumentation with synthesized washes and extremely subtle electronic effects. This formula isn't unique, as anyone who's ever spun a Beth Orton disc understands. Yet Pumo and Graham Pearce, her musical compatriot, employ it with intelligence and a depth of feeling that animates lyrics that are often as evocative as the sonic beds beneath them. That's particularly true of "Space Girl," whose ethereal theme, exemplified by its opening couplet ("The numbers travel down the line/There's no sense of speed"), is mirrored by an appropriately enigmatic melody and arrangement. Just as strong are "Sandstone," with its sweeping faux strings, and "Trip," which is one.Pumo's music will leave listeners feeling Over the Moon. - Michael Roberts, Westword
