For some of us emigration stands for the pain of leaving the homeland while others prefer to see the chances unfolding in a new, maybe more developed country. Sadness or joy - doesn't matter. The most important thing is to make use of that feeling creatively and this is exactly what Bartek Sztokinger decided to do after moving from Warsaw to Munich at the age of 16. He started working in clubs where he encountered electronic music and from that moment there was no turning back ...His first DJ performance in front of 800 people takes place in 1995 on the New Year's Eve party at the PVC - Taufkirchen club near Munich. After few months Bata Bartek becomes a resident at a very popular place called Cafe X. The capital of Bavaria is in any case very friendly for the Polish DJ. 1997 opens the residence at the Subraum After Hour parties at Reactor, which additionally comes with a long list of performances in various clubs. The efforts were worth it and what happened next could be described as the domino effect. Regular gigs at Das Wort zum Sonntag at clubs such as Liberty, Backstage, Opera de Luxe, Natrium, Babalu Bar, Icebox, New Backstage and Fortuna are definitely the highlights of 1999. 2000 - 2002 is a time of a residence at the legendary Labor club in Munich and boy this guy is busy! However that's only a part of the story as Bartek does not think of constraining himself only to Bavaria. Gigs at the Berlin's Oxymoron during the Love Parade 2000 and at the Hammerhalle in Rosenheim plus performances in Austria and Croatia are the results of his musical outings. In 2001 Bartek plays for the first time in front of a Polish crowd in Braniewo's 13 club and as it soon turned out - it wasn't his last trip to the homeland. The audiences at Rewers in Olsztyn and at the capital's Lokomotywa also capitulate to Bartek's unique sets.In 2001 he starts working in the PresSwerK Munchen DJ shop - a company that is also a booking agency, vinyls and CDs manufacturer and which runs a house label called Plastic Boogie Records. Sztokinger is responsible for organizing parties in Bavaria, which helps in making contacts with DJs throughout Germany.Together with the vivid development of Bartek's career, his musical preferences change significantly. In 2003 he leaves techno for lighter genres such as progressive, tribal and breaks. He starts co-organizing Bionic - Electric Delicate Deep parties at the Nachtwerk Club in Munich and with Poland's best Angelo Mike and Malta's Joseph Armani grace the decks of the 21st truck at the Love Parade.2004 is the time of using the years of experience to create his own Pure Elements Entertainment agency, which among other things tightens the co-operation with Angelo Mike's Sentence to promote Polish artists on the Munich scene. A goal definitely worth every effort! How such an occupied person finds the time to produce his own music? Hard to tell. We'll probably know the answer when the collaboration with Dominik van Reich & Steve Boleck bear its fruit. Watch this space ...
