About Me

Let's start with the present... To this day Mumzy is a solo artist with a voice that is real, diverse and edgy. He'll always manage to catch your burning ear with his firey lyrics and soul. With a studio based at his home, he teaches himself instruments and deals with his own production. Although many of his sounds are self-produced, Mumzy has a handful of talented producers he works with. He is currently working on his album with Rishi Rich (Super Producer). Mumzy loves writing his own material but is open to work with other people in the studio as this broadens the horizons. He enjoys writing with Alibi, Abzy, Fayahs, Jai Rajani. Most of his writing inspirations come straight from his 'wifey-to-be' Nas. Dancing skills are also in the bag while working on big projects with Snach (Saran Kohli) and his personal choreographer Taz. Reminiscing backwards, Mumzy is a British born Bangladeshi raised in a welcoming Islamic home. He discovered his love for music at the age of 11. His brothers influenced him to get involved into music by throwing him into their massive cd collections. Mumzy started experimenting with different MC styles, including ragga and then branched into singing and discovering his vocal range. After "branching," he grew a damn tree! And here is today, a stranger. No-one truly knows anyone, you're born a stranger, you live a stranger, and you die a stranger. Enter his world.

Influences:The first person that sings into Mumzy's musical mind is Joe & Sean Paul!!!. Other artists also play a part such as Michael Jackson (obviously), Donnel Jones, Usher, Aaliyah, Brian Mcknight, Soul For Real, Jodeci, Blackstreet, Justin Timberlake, Craig David, LL Cool J, Timbaland and the list goes on... FRIENDS: Abzy, Alibi, Rishi Rich, Hdhami, Snach, Dj Krash, and many many more.

Sounds Like: What do you think? In the studio or on stage, Mumzy sounds like no-one but himself. His studio sessions consist of experimenting and writing from different angles and always thinking 'outside the box.' He believes that artists should never be compared as everyone has something unique and individual to offer.
