The second daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Boleyn. I have a sister Mary and a brother George. My childhood was mostly spent in Kent until I was sent to the Netherlands Royal Court. My father was a diplomat and Archduchess Margaret was so impressed with him, he offered my services within her household. In the year of our Lord 1514 I left for France to further my education.Becoming a lady-in-waiting to Queen Claude of France, I was one of her favourites. In the Queen's household I would interpreter for the Queen when English visitors arrived. Queen Claude loved my thorough knowledge of French culture and etiquette. In the winter of 1521, my father summoned me back to England. Once I had returned I was placed into Queen Catherine of Aragon's household. I made my court debut at a ball in 1522. You could say I was the bell of the ball, as I was the most fashionable and accomplished women there. Just returning from France with French fashions and customs, my sharp tongue and stricking looks captured many mens eyes.It was then I met my first love Henry Percy, Heir to the Earldom of Northumberland. We made a pledge to marry, but the King would not give his blessing to this union as I was not of high birth. Though I know Henry's father, the Earl and Cardinal Wosley had a hand in this.Shortly after my heart was crushed to piece for the lost of Henry Percy, Henry Tudor King of England start to pursue me. With the help of my family ambition for success, wealth and titles, the King's lust for me grew. He courted me as if he were unattached. I refused to become his mistress as he has already had my sister Mary and had his fill of her while he was married to Catherine. I made it my aim to keep the King's desire focused only on me. I succeeded and played this dangerous game for six years.I would only let him have me once he had divorced Queen Catherine. The Pope was not giving Henry his divorce and he wanted me more than anything. Henry calls me Nan his darling. He is obsessed with me, his love grows daily. Finally he made plans to break from the Catholic church and become the Head of the Church of England. Henry and I changed the religious face of England with the Reformation. With Cathrine sent to a nunnery, he was free to marry me. A few weeks before we wed (with my goal in sight) I let the King bed me and I was pregnant we did say our vows.On Sunday, 7 September 1533, I gave birth to Elizabeth. I had prayed for a son for this is what the King desire more than anything on the earth. I had failed him. He started to grow cold towards me and after some miscarriage and stillborns bairns, the Kings eye started to wonder. Rumour began to spread about how he was going to divorce me to marry again. I was heartbroken. Then the most terrible thing happened, my fears came true. Once realising that the King could and would not divorce me, the end of my life was the only way out. They bent the truth and tortured innocent men including my brother to confess that they had carnal knowledge of me. Such filthy lies. There was a trial if you could say that, but so unfair and unjustice was this legal court. On the 19th May 1536, I walked to the scaffold for my execution. Henry had been merciful and decided to give me a painless death. A French executioner was hired and I must say I never suffered. My only regret was leaving my darling little child. My painted doll Elizabeth. Not even 3 yet, I had left her motherless. A beautiful lamb in a lions den. Forgive me sweet girl. I fear my own ambition was in the end my sorry downfall.
