Lekeisha Nicole Hibbler AKA K-Prodigy is an independent artist with a career based out of the city of Saginaw, Michigan. Since 1997, the artist known as K-Prodigy has maintained a consistent underground buzz in the local Saginaw hip-hop/R&B scene establishing her credibility with her unique vocal ability, song-writing style, and her ability to self-chorography dance performances for herself and other upcoming artists in her community. In 2003, while earning her Bachelor's of Business Administration at Central Michigan University, she co-founded an independent music company entitled Godstar Entertainment Incorporated. Through this company, K-Prodigy has utilized all her musical talents giving her and her organization a well-respected reputation throughout the state of Michigan.
While still an artist on the underground R&B scene, K-Prodigy has accomplished a variety of musical achievements. For example, performing with the Saginaw High Choir for Community Outreach which was televised on a local Saginaw T.V station (SETV Ch. 11). In addition to the credibility she has earned for broadcasted performances, she has also performed numerous showcases, semi-Apollo, and special events such as the 1998 Saginaw Gospel Competition, in which she sung lead position for Prince of Peace Baptist Church, in which they won 2nd place. Along with her broad performance experience, K-Prodigy has an exceptional discography and recording history which consists of a long list of self-written tracks and cameos with many local Hip-Hop and R&B artists. Most recently, K-Prodigy has collaborated with New Skool/Capitol Records recording artist Roc Da Prophet releasing the hot new single entitled, “It Don’t Matter" which has been highly recognized throughout the Midwest.
Some of K-Prodigy musical influences expand throughout all musical genres including Rock, Jazz, and Gospel music. K-Prodigy’s primary musical inspirations come from artists such as 2Pac, Mos Def, Nas, Indie Arie and Stevie Wonder. K-Prodigy states, "Though there are many great musical inspirations that I have developed my artistry from, my greatest inspirations are God and my mother." She aspires to establish herself with a credible and respected mainstream record label and possibly obtain a distribution opportunity for Godstar Entertainment. Most importantly, K-Prodigy desires to become a well-respected artist with a successful career in the music industry while motivating other urban youth to fulfill their own artistic dreams.
