The Brooding Breed

About Me

Hal Sharpton, Amir Rashaad Mohammed, Devin Standards, Bobby Kendrick, and Eldritch "Fish-tank" McNastiness were classmates and friends in a high school, one filled to capacity with un-diagnosed, mentally ill children. These students are no exception; Devin has multiple personalities (a Superhero, a Super Villain, and a Las Vegas Showgirl), Amir Rashaad Mohammed is a white-bred Catholic of Irish and Swedish descent whose actual name is Joseph Leary, but he believes himself to be a Muslim, black supremascist. And the lost soul known as Eldritch (real name Pete Marshall) believes himself the good will ambassador of a fictional "Monkey Desert", brimming with maroon sands, folk singers, and stampeding, red-assed baboons. The other two, Hal and Bobby, are fairly normal - at least by comparison to their comrades - but prolonged exposure to the eccentricities of their environment (one containing a faculty of Soviet deserters planning world domination, hall monitors with mob ties, and a Vietnam Veteran Principle who thinks everyone's name is 'Charlie') have begun to take effect on their fragile young minds. But rather than demonstrate these beginnings of dementia through random stupidity, they instead focus their madness through their music; under the assumed name of the Brooding Breed, the two weave a maelstrom of psychedelic house, trip-hop, shoegaze, and science experiments willfully gone horribly wrong. And aren't experiments always fun? Their initial steps towards making headway into the music business came to them, as Hal and Bobby saved a young man from the fangs of a snarling Slampax, a vicious sandbeast (one common amongst the Monkey Desert's maroon sands) that mutated from a mild-mannered used-tampon. The fortunate man that they saved was a wandering rapper named Schism, who'd found his way to the mystical Desert after a sizeable hit of acid sent him ambling aimlessly beyond his homeland of California. The rapper and the mindless musicians formed an instant rapport, and have since collaborated on several musical endeavors. The two have a mutual respect for each other, and Schism has in fact supported the Brooding Breed in many co-headlining tours of the Deserts. The Brooding Breed can now be seen fulfilling the duties of back-up band on Schism's recurring tour of Amsterdam, entitled Weedstock. This marks the first time in 7000 seconds that Hal and Bobby have set foot into our world... pray for us all.
