Rockshot Records

About Me

Rockshot Records is an independent music label. What does that mean? That means that we sign and promote artists that we think rock. That’s the beauty of being independent, we don’t have to limit ourselves to the types of music or artists that are in the corporate mainstream. We strive to help our artists achieve their individual goals in the music business, be that playing out two nights a week locally and selling a thousand copies of a disc to their die hard fans or actively touring and attempting to attract major label attention.
What separates Rockshot Records from other indie labels?
Personal Attention. We don’t just sign you up , give you a map and send you out on your own. We provide hands on attention to each of our artists. We are here to help with any and all issues, be it finding a sound man at the last minute or bringing in a producer that can help develop your particular sound in the studio.
The Team Approach. The management of Rockshot Records includes individuals with a lot of real world experience in the music industry. This experience runs the gambit from booking and playing live shows, to studio recording, to legal aspects of the music industry. Despite their individual qualifications, Rockshot Records also relies upon a team of other talented professionals to assist in
Make Money, Money, Make Money Money Make. With Rockshot Records the artists make money from the first disc sold. Many other “so called” record companies charge their artists up front costs and fees or they require to be paid all production costs before the artist see a penny. That can be a long time eating ramen noodles. Rockshot Records artists will make money on every disc sold, from disc one to disc one million.
What does it take to get signed by Rockshot Records?
First and foremost good music. It doesn’t have to be great music. If it were great, you would already be touring with the Stones. We want to find you when you have good music and help you develop it into great music
There are many bands out there with good music. Although that is the first ingredient in the Rockshot recipe for success it is not the only one. Your band must be committed to doing what it takes to meet your goals. If you want to be a “rock star” but you’re not willing to tour beyond your neighborhood, we will not be of much help. On the other hand, if your commitment is equal to your desire, we will give you all the assistance we can.
It's important that your band have a following and a good fan base. Our ability to get you booked in venues and promote merchandise sales is directly related to the number of asses you can put in the seats or feet you can put on the dance floor. Whether the venue is selling tickets or drinks, they want people. This will also help us gage the potential success of any studio work.
Finally, remember that we are just people. Do not let the fact that we do not wish to represent you discourage you from your pursuits. There are many reasons that we may turn you down and that does not necessary reflect the quality of your work. As we said in the opening the beauty of the independent label is we can pick and choose our bands based upon our own unique criteria. Almost every successful band has been rejected many more times than they have been signed.
