Wellcome to DRUMHOUSE-NIGEL.I have 35 years of playing experience,Playing all styles from Rock and Pop, to Jazz and Blues to Reggae,to Drum and Base. Starting at the age of eight listening to the Big Band greats such as Buddy Rich, Gene Krupa and Louis Bellson. By the age of 15, I was having lessons with the late Geoff Myers who at the time was playing with the Sid Lawrence Orchestra. By the age of 18, I was playing clubs around Yorkshire whilst playing with the Bradford Metropolitan Big Band and Concert Band. I was also studying piano at the Leeds College of Music; this not only gave me knowledge of time, but also of melodies and taught me to listen to other musicians. I Graduated from the Academy of Contemporary Music in 2005 with a Higher National Deploma. Since then I have become a well respected teacher/Performer around the Yorkshire Area.When I am not playing Drum Kit I can be found playing the Bodhran, I have just returned from Ireland ware I have managed to pick up some great Ideas from other fellow Bodhran players especially Brian from the Hillbilly Porter Band, Who took time out to explain his traditional hand technique using his fingers to play the skin instead of using a tipper.
