I'm into visual art but more important is what is on the inside, Without a kind and courageous heart for substance a person is like an empty shell. "The name of the flag is 'Namkyen Gyaldar' and it means the 'Victorious Flag of Buddha's Wisdom'. It is the manifestation of the supreme Enlightened vision of HH 16th Karmapa. HH prophesised that this flag will bring immense benefits to the Dharma as well as all sentient beings.The sky blue colour represents the complete and profound Wisdom of the inner realisation of the Buddha. The yellow colour on the flag represents the Wisdom of limitless Compassion which bestows benefits on all sentient beings and phenomena. The wavy line and the joining of the yellow and blue colours signify the inseperability of these two Wisdoms." The 16th Karmapa saw the flag in a dream and said that wherever the flag is flown, the Dharma will flourish! The Dharma, as I have slowly come to understand, in a nutshell is the collective Buddhist teachings which instruct how meditation and the practice of Peace-fullness create an expansive higher consciousness and eventually result in spirtual enlightenment. Currently reading:The Myth of Freedom by Chogyam Trungpa. The Crystal and the Way of Light, By Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche, my Dads Lama and Leader of his Dzogchen Community. Most importantly I have recently read Shambhala- The Sacred Path of the Warrior, which is hands down the best book on how to get your ol' noggin screwed on straight I've ever come across. Don't have a lot of time for novels- bummer!
THOMAS JEFFERSON, because if he were alive today he would kick George Bush's evil ass off a cliff for Treason, Al Gore and all true Democratic candidates for the Presidency, Georgia O'Keeffe, Jon Stewart, John Lennon, Joan of Arc, Michael Franti, Rachel Carson, anyone who can admit they have a lot to learn no matter how many PhD's they have and yet doesn't let the snake-tongued politicians and religious fanatics manipulate them through fear.
