A review about my first release "The Enable Cloud Button"
"Just by looking at the cover artwork of The Enable Cloud Button (pictures of people distorted by digital overzoom), one could assume this is going to be about some weird stuff. And it really is. If you decide to push on the Button, be prepared to leave behind your personal conception of logic for a while...
THE APEX, THE HARMONY OF is a harshnoise act from Bracknell (uk) and its release The Enable Cloud Button has 19 tracks with 1 minute average duration (except for the closing one – Binaural – which is 5 and half min. long)… The first track Intro is like collage of sound defects with some voice samples irritated by stubborn noise attacks. The first 20 seconds of the New Fear of Closed Doors even have some insinuates of ‘common’ musical structure (it’s buggered though), but it’s quickly being showered by merciless hums, clacks and squeaks... If you dare to explore your imagination in unusual directions, some of the track titles would signalize just what it may sound like – Alarming Demand for Scabs, 8 Bit Vector Malfunction, Quantum Bottlenecking, etc.
I’m not sure if it was some intentional technical disorder by the author of this release, but my CD player got a bit crazy while playing this stuff. That significantly increased my impression of weirdness of The Apex… And yes, this is pretty far from Aphex Twin…"(Black Syrup zine, issue 2)
