I'm a California native, but currently I live in the Florida Keys. I am a dolphin trainer at the best marine mammal park in the world. I work with the love of my life- a little boy named Eclipse. The animals and my coworkers are like a family and the park is a beautiful little oasis in the desert of the keys. I'm not a Keys girl and do not consider the keys beautiful- I grew up in the Sierra Nevada- skiing, hiking, camping, snowboarding, and later when I went to school at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, I was introduced to my other true love: surfing (you can't get much more beautiful than the California central coast). I don't get to do much surfing here- my quiver is strung up on the ceiling and my walls are decorated with CA surf spots. The best ride I get down here is on the back of Eclipse, which is pretty fun, too. I hate driving through Miami (sin city if there ever was one), but I will for a good swell. The best swell I have seen in Florida was in 2003- hurricane Isabelle, which, along with the atmospheric disturbance in the gulf, produced glassy, warm, beautiful overhead lines stacked to the horizon, it seemed. Besides that I've seen no surf that compares to CA. Went to Hawaii recently- it was quite possibly the best week of my life. I cheered all through high school and college- it was my life back then- and so performing has always been a big part of my life. One of my other great passions is yoga- it keeps me sane and grounded down here when I miss the west coast and when I feel lonely. I love the feeling I get from it- like I can accomplish anything through practice and focus, and I've achieved some unbelievable things in my life and my practice.
