****************************************** ArtAziA Original Rock & Roll / Metal ******************************************ROCK & ROLL FROM THE 80’s. ArtAziA was formed in the steel city of Allentown Pennsylvania in 1978. The all original heavy rock band struggled with the local music unions for nearly two years before bassist Ross Allan and founder/guitarist Dave Mack split to Texas. In no time at all, drummer Patrick Murphy auditioned and was immediately asked to join the band. In 1982 Daryl Norton started rehearsing with the band and was also asked to join. ArtAziA went through five bass players before they were fortunate enough to find and keep Jay Jeffery in 1985. The bands only long term vocalist was Lane Denney. He joined in 1983 and stayed with the band until they disbanded in late 1988.The band did well in the Southwest and in the DFW area until the dreaded Heavy Metal Crash of 1988. Unfortunately the band never completed an album. After several long years of playing the clubs week after week, the bands tensions were high. They disbanded in late 1988 and did not play together again until 2006.Band founder and principal songwriter Dave Mack stopped playing professionally all together.Patrick Murphy continued to play doing several large venues with ASKA just to mention one. Pat then opened Bridge Recording Studios witch he still operates today.Daryl Norton went on to join ASKA and toured the world playing their molten hot style of original metal. ASKA has just completed recording their 5th album. We look forward to hearing Daryls contributions.Lane Denney went on to several solo projects and did some recording for some local bands.Jay Jeffery continued to play. He played bass for “Damage†for several years before retiring from the music industry.After an ArtAziA reunion dinner on January, 3rd, 2006, the band reunited and has been working on their first album at Bridge Recording. The project has yielded several good tracks that will be released soon!The band is now on an indefinite break and will resume recording when schedules allow.****************************************************** ************************************************************ ************************************************************ **************
