Marti's musical influences include pop, gospel, jazz, blues, folk, rock, classical- just about everything. Her biggest influence was her mother, an accomplished pianist, singer and songwriter, who taught her how to read, sing, play and perform music during childhood. Marti sang back-up for her mother who had transitioned from piano bars to Christian music, writing and performing her own style of gospel music with a jazzy lounge feel. She performed with her family throughout Pennsylvania and the surrounding states in churches, prisons and various events.
Marti often incorporates humor and compelling stories in her songs, but most of all she captures the human experience in her music. She wraps her original lyrics in funky, jazzy grooves and catchy melodies, creating songs that make listeners want to move with the music and sing along.
