About Me

CAPITOL HILL ARTS CENTER

MISSION:
Our mission consists of three inseparable parts:

Artistic Mission: “Art Has Value”
To develop, produce and distribute artist-powered performances that deliver value to our audiences and which showcase quality, innovation, social consciousness and interactivity.

Community Mission: “Art Can Nourish Like Food”
Our goal is to give to our community generously and responsibly and we actively evaluate our activities and their effect on those around us. We strive to serve our members by providing a portal to performances, community resources, and learning opportunities.

Economic Mission: “Show Business Is a Business”
We will demonstrate that a business in the arts sector, guided by business fundamentals, can create a sustainable growth model for its community, artists, and stakeholders.

DESCRIPTION:
Perched on a bustling avenue of its namesake neighborhood, Capitol Hill Arts Center (CHAC) occupies a classic brick and timber warehouse, originally an auto showroom built in 1917. CHAC is a local platform supporting emerging artists and producers as well as a hub fostering community growth and national artistic exchange. CHAC is home to three performance venues which cater to collaborative, innovative and community-powered events. Whether it's food for the belly or food for the soul, CHAC has got it, all under one roof. Cozy up to a cup of coffee, an evening cocktail conversation or rent space for your next event. From live local music to Seattle's best performances there's always something brewing at CHAC!

CHAC LOUNGE & LOWER LEVEL:
Aptly named, CHAC Lounge & Lower Level are two ambient and underground spaces where after hours one can easily find a veritable who’s who of Seattle’s arts scene, and a few of the scattered downtrodden. CHAC’s Lounge offers a comfortable and copesetic place to unwind. Each night of the week features specialty drinks and Happy Hour from 6pm - 9pm an all night on Tuesdays! Check out the performances in the Lower Level, from irreverent variety nights to DJs, live music and more. This is subterranean digs; come down.
